21st Transmission [Video/Written/Action] (Forward Dated to March 17)

[Well it's about that time of year, when the weather begins to shift and it's beginning to get to the point where cultivating and preparing to for planting season is becoming a necessity. And to get all this started, Luke needs your help. He opens up the journal and smiles at the camera.]

Good afternoon Luceti,

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Luke Skywalker. For the last couple of years I've been tending to some of the farmlands outside the village, trying to build up emergency stores as well as bringing a bit of self-sufficiency to the enclosure. And as some of you may know, within the last year both Nami and Applejack have both departed, leaving the orchards near the farmland untended. I've been tending to them as best I can, but the vast majority of the help I had with the work has also returned home.

In the interest of better utilizing the space I'd like to request the help of anyone willing to volunteer their time with a bit of manual labor. I'm afraid it's simply not going to be possible to manage it all by myself, and any help would be greatly appreciated. It's beginning to near the planting season, after all. I'm happy to offer whatever services I can provide in exchange.

[There's a pause, and he seems to look somewhere off camera.]

On a related note, if there's anyone who knows anything about building irrigation systems, I'd appreciate any advice.

Loki, I know this is much less interesting than musical theater and cookies, but I was hoping I could get your help with a bit of magical work on the farm.

Law, I figure we should probably revisit some of those supply caches and check on them. Possibly restock and take care of a few other things down that vein.

Was that the first time we were ever cut off from supplies?

[Ginia's hunch is yes, but it doesn't matter in the end. If it's happened before, it can and probably will happen in the future. Anything can and will and it's frustrating the village as a whole doesn't seem to take that into consideration.

She gives the supplies another look over.]

Honey wouldn't be bad to store either, both for flavoring bitter medicine and its own antibacterial properties.

That I'm aware of, yes. But Law's been here longer than me, so I'll defer to that.

[At the suggestion, Luke raises an eyebrow. Honey never really occurred to him, but in a way it does make sense.]

Think you can handle that one, then? With the farm, I've got a lot on my plate.

[deathsdoctor]

No. But the time before Kin'corra was far before my own time. Very few people are left that would remember it.

[A question to ask Raine at some point then. But she nods at Luke's question.]

Of course. I can also collect the other food and water for this cache too.

[He nods towards the exit.]

Either the Barracks, Battle Dome, or tunnels. Closest. Any preference?

[Though if they went Battle Dome, it was logical to make their next stop the hot springs and the abandoned lab since the teleporter in the Rec center was nearby. Same with the ocean fort with the Barracks.]

[Ginia recalls the list of locations supplies were stored at, plotting out the best route. If they went to the Battle Dome, they could go up to the rec center and use the teleporter to go to the hot springs and lab. Or the barracks then the ocean.]

How about the Battle Dome next, then back to the rec center to use the teleporter to reach the hot springs and mountain lab?

[He heads out of the room and locks it up as they leave.]

Sounds good to me. [Turning and heading off on the path that will lead past his house and to the Dome.

It's not a bad walk there. Not particularly interesting and worthy of comment either unless one wants to linger on the matter of the red eyed crow that decided to use Law's nodachi as a perch for half of the walk. But eventually they will arrive at the Battle Dome - natural habit of ninja pirate doctors.]

[It's a nice walk to the Battle Dome, a path Ginia takes on a nearly daily basis now.

...The crow is interesting. The red eyes make it a bit creepy, but as Law doesn't seem to mind, she won't dwell on it. She's seen other crows around so maybe it's another pet.

...Still. Huh.]

[Luke doesn't see anything out of the ordinary about the crow, especially knowing Law's husband. Nothing terribly interesting to see here. Just a bird ninja...thing.]

[It might not even be the doing of his husband. There are red eyed crows about that are not under Itachi's control.

He thinks anyway. It's not like he's as familiar with the crow population as his husband. Law gets along with them but cats are his favourite. Aside from bears.]

Right this way.

[He'll lead them straight into the clinic to one of the back rooms on the first floor. He'd originally thought to use Bil's abandoned lab for a storage site, but in case the lab was sealed up again? The pirate's unwilling to risk it.]

Besides locks and keys, are there any other security measures on the caches? Or is it simply no one knows about them combined with their location?

Most of the ones I've worked with I don't bother hiding. Nobody really knows about them, aside from us, though. Save my mother, at least.

Really, no one does. Pretty much everyone except Luke here seems to forget they exist even when they're reminded.

[Unlocking the door.]

That said, aside from my husband, really no one knows where they are except me, Luke, Luke's mother, and now you.

[Sensible enough. If there's more people who know in the future, security can be discussed. For now, it seems secure enough. Ginia nods, satisfied with the answer.]

Oh, and Lupin. If...he returns with his memories.

[The thief had been the one to give Luke the idea, after all.]

But he's been gone well over a year.

[He misses Lupin terribly. But he doesn't wish him back. Free spirits like his didn't belong here.]

... you never know with this place.

[Opening up the door and here we go.]

I've got it organized by type of supply. Medicine and medical supplies are here. Flats of water here. Non perishable food here. Blankets, flash lights, batteries, torches here. More survival gear, including some very large tents here...

[You never know indeed. After all, she was back too after a long period of time, though without memories. Ginia still doesn't like the idea of not remembering, especially the more she hears about her previous stay. It's hard combining her present life and her previous legacy.

Ginia looks around the supply cache and whistles. It's impressive, certainly a good stash.]

Has there been thought to how supplies will be divided in the event of an emergency?

Rationing, obviously. But no one group should receive preference.

[It's a quick answer, and one Luke fervently believes is the only one.]

Nobody receives preference, no. It's bad enough when one group just thinks another is ahead of the queue.

[That Kin'corran playdate. Those rumours that had come out of Vaskoth.

Troublesome with a capital T.]

[Sound enough. Even the appearance of preference can grow resentment, and with resentment comes other problems, things no one needs when things are stressful enough.]

Since I'm already collecting honey and other non-perishable food for the clinic, I can bring some here too?
