21st Transmission [Video/Written/Action] (Forward Dated to March 17)

[Well it's about that time of year, when the weather begins to shift and it's beginning to get to the point where cultivating and preparing to for planting season is becoming a necessity. And to get all this started, Luke needs your help. He opens up the journal and smiles at the camera.]

Good afternoon Luceti,

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Luke Skywalker. For the last couple of years I've been tending to some of the farmlands outside the village, trying to build up emergency stores as well as bringing a bit of self-sufficiency to the enclosure. And as some of you may know, within the last year both Nami and Applejack have both departed, leaving the orchards near the farmland untended. I've been tending to them as best I can, but the vast majority of the help I had with the work has also returned home.

In the interest of better utilizing the space I'd like to request the help of anyone willing to volunteer their time with a bit of manual labor. I'm afraid it's simply not going to be possible to manage it all by myself, and any help would be greatly appreciated. It's beginning to near the planting season, after all. I'm happy to offer whatever services I can provide in exchange.

[There's a pause, and he seems to look somewhere off camera.]

On a related note, if there's anyone who knows anything about building irrigation systems, I'd appreciate any advice.

[Shutting off the feed, he sends out two private messages.]

Loki, I know this is much less interesting than musical theater and cookies, but I was hoping I could get your help with a bit of magical work on the farm.

Law, I figure we should probably revisit some of those supply caches and check on them. Possibly restock and take care of a few other things down that vein.

[While Law unpacks the food, Ginia takes another look around the hot springs.]

It's remarkable this place was built by people here. I can't imagine it was easy. Were the hot springs something people were told about or was it discovered?

[Again, Luke turns to Law. He doesn't know the answer to that one...]

Discovered way back before me. You'd have to ask Miss Raine the story of how that one came about. I've only heard bits of it.

I take it Raine is one of the best resources in the village for the general history of Luceti.

[Luke nods.]

Her, Sheena, or Albert Silverberg, yes. Since Yuan's gone now.

Yeah, any of those three can tell you a lot. [Who likes onigiri? Because Law does. There's an assortment to choose from - ones stuffed with seaweed, tuna, salmon, unagi, and okaka. Some are toasted, some are not.] We've tried to keep a written record of the past before, but that's not gone through for one reason or another. History and knowledge are passed on orally or not at all. It's a good thing people are so free to share here. Or a lot would have been lost.

[People to visit and talk to. It helps two of them are easy to find, Raine at the flower shop and the school, Sheena at the tea shop. And Ginia helps herself to a tuna onigiri. Mmm.]

The guide does a good job of covering things too. Though I feel like for the facts that fall between the wayside, some kind of written record would be good. Perhaps something summarizing the month?

[Luke reaches for seaweed, preferring the simple, salty taste. It reminded him of a kind of flatbread Aunt Beru used to make, a salty concoction native to Tatooine.]

You mean like a monthly newsletter?

[Meanwhile Law will first concentrate his nomming on one of the unagi. Albert can be found at the tea shop as well. It's just a question of getting in there early enough to catch him.]

Got to admit I miss the paper back home, even if it wasn't always a reliable thing. [I R O N Y. Even he's going to fall for what the paper says in the future.] Something like that would be nice here.

Newsletter, monthly updates, something like that. There's seven years of Luceti that's spotty or lost. I'd hate to see seven more years go the same way.

[Luke nods in agreement.]

Actually, that's something my mother was talking about recently. Recording our time here. I think it might be a good idea, and I definitely agree that I'd hate to see knowledge lost.

Was she thinking of taking something like that on as a project? Or do you know someone else who would? Getting down the history of Luceti will be a big job. [One the three of them wouldn't have time for, involved as they are in other things.]

... makes me wish Miss Robin was still here...

[It's a project Ginia would be all over, but time is precious and she's busy enough as is. Still, it's nice to know there's already one interested party.]

She would be a good person for the task, though having a few others wouldn't be a bad idea. Editing, making sure information is accurate, taking over if someone is busy.

[Taking over if someone leaves.]

[Luke shakes his head.]

Honestly, I don't think she was. She's a politician, not a historian, and what she was talking about was more personal memoirs than anything like that. I know she'd be happy to help with it, but I'm not sure she'd be able to spearhead it.

[Certainly not in her condition, either.]

It sounds like the sort of thing Raine or Helios might be suited for, though.

Or Miss Ikki if she were old enough.

I know Miss Raine would contribute... but with the school and the flower shop, I doubt she'd want to spearhead it either unless she had significant help. [She's really busy too.] Maybe Mister Helios...

Or Albert Silverberg. He might be the one for it.

[Aside from the teashop, Law doesn't think he's up to much. And besides... he's the only person remaining from the beginning. If this was done, they'd want him helping regardless.]

Perhaps approach Albert and Helios as people to spearhead the project, Raine as someone to contribute when possible, and then any additional volunteers?

I don't believe I've ever spoken to Albert. But Helios I can talk to, certainly.

I've spoken to Mister Albert, but hmmm...

[Albert had shown up at Law's wedding but they spent more time watching each other than really talking altogether. Like two cats in one room trying to figure out what the other would do. Nothing hostile... simply intrigued.]

... I'll run it by him. See if it interests him.

I'll leave talking to people to you two then, both of you do know them and the general village better than I do.

[This time around, at least.]

[Luke gives her a look and a half smile, oddly reminded of someone back home.]

Yes ma'am.

[Law's got a mouthful of onigiri to get through at this particular moment... so it's going to be a nod and a hum.]

Mmmhmm.

[No promises though. Albert was Albert.]

[Ugh, ma'am. Not a soldier, not an officer, so the word just makes her feel old. Ginia finishes off her tuna onigiri and helps herself to an unagi onigiri next.]

These are good. Did you make them?

[Luke silently smiles to himself as he eats. Ginia's barely older than he is, but if she knew him she'd know it's just his way.]
