[Luke sighs and gets a sad look on his face]

A few days before I was born, a Sith Lord who had risen to the highest seat of government power while hiding his identity managed to have the majority of the Jedi killed. He turned the entire Republic military on them in a sweeping purge known as Order 66. A few Jedi hid, escaped, or managed to outfight their assassins. My sister and I were hidden, and...in time managed to defeat this Sith and begin rebuilding the Jedi Order.

...I'm so sorry. [Wow that really wasn't her place to ask and now she sort of feels terrible.] But if the Sith was defeated and you two are rebuilding the Order, that means there's peace now, right? More Jedi can start coming into existence. [Kind of like how there are so few Keyblade bearers now, but the number's slowly growing.]

Don't be sorry, it is what it is. We've long since accepted it and moved on.

Peace, generally, has come. The remnants of Palpatine's forces are in shambles, but there are still isolated skirmishes and attacks. Maybe...in a few more years we'll have finally put his supporters in a place where they have to make a treaty.

I hope so...I know complete peace is a huge stretch, but it's something to work for, right? As long as you have help, sounds like you'll be able to get there. Does being stuck here worry you at all?

[Luke shakes his head]

At home, for the moment, there is nothing to worry about. Nothing directly is going on, and we're in a period of relative peace. I say relative, because the Imperial Remnant is still around, but not really up to anything overtly aggressive. I was just sitting in my room at the Jedi Academy, and I woke up here. Not...that I wouldn't prefer home to being here, I'm not exactly pleased with being an experimental Nerf.

What about you Kairi? What is your world like?

I think most of us would prefer home to being here, but there are some exceptions.

[One day, she'll have to tell Luke the real story with the real heros, but for now all she knows is her newly created story.]

Well...I'm from a world called Destiny Islands. ...well actually, before that, I lived in a world called Radiant Garden with my parents and my brother. His name is Luke, too. [She grins a little at that.] It was really peaceful for many years before it was consumed by the darkness...I was really young. The darkness would have got me, too, if Luke hadn't saved me and set me out of the Garden to somewhere else. That's how I got to Destiny Islands. I met Sora and Riku when I was five and we became best friends.

...a few years ago, darkness got to that world, too, and swallowed it up. My best friends and I all got separated. I...wasn't really awake for most of the time. [Because how do you tell someone you lost your heart and were comatose for a good portion of the adventure?] But Sora became a Keyblade wielder that night we were attacked. It was up to him to go around saving the other worlds that were being threatened by the darkness. ...my other best friend fell into the darkness though. [She quickly skirts around that issue though because what happened to Riku still scares and bothers her a bit. Being manipulated like that and then being possessed...she heard the stories.]

We thought everything would go back to normal once Ansem was defeated, but we were wrong. We all got separated again. I was stuck on the island alone waiting for them...and that's when he came back. My brother...when he saved me, he was swallowed by the darkness, but he was strong. He had a strong heart and he became a creature known as a Heartless. He found me after ten years and then? Then we started traveling to save the worlds Sora and Riku couldn't hit and looking for those two at the same time.

In the end we all reunited again on the islands, except Luke...[Who, until this week, she assumed had officially been killed.]

That got wordy, didn't it?

Wordy is alright. We've certainly discussed my world enough.

[He nods, taking in the story.]

I gather that you managed to pull Riku back into the light when you defeated Ansem? What...exactly was it Ansem was doing?

Also, Heartless?

Well...it wasn't exactly that easy. Riku was really in deep and he had to find his own path. He hid from us for a while before he could accept that he was no longer a person of the dark.

[Sigh. Ansem.] He wanted to send the entire universe into the darkness, to make it brief.

The Heartless are monsters in our world. They're what come to life when a person loses their heart to the darkness.

Sounds like Ansem was a rather loathsome individual.

[He raises an eye brow at the last bit]

Loses their...heart? I take it that might be a metaphor for soul, or is it quite literally the heart?

Loathesome doesn't even cover it. He wasn't even the worst of the enemies we faced, but he was definitely the start of it.

...it's literally the heart. [It gets sort of complicated, actually.] The Heartless form as a physical manifestation of a heart consumed by darkness. Sometimes the body and soul of a person go on and form a Nobody though.

Really? How does it get worse than that?

[Consider him interested]

And...that is a most curious thing. What...is a Nobody, as well?

After we defeated Ansem? We found out he wasn't Ansem...he was Xehanort's Heartless, and the real enemy we had to defeat was Xemnas, Ansem's nobody. [See how it gets complicated, Luke?]

A Nobody's what's left after the heart is consumed...if a person's heart is strong enough, the body and soul will combine to make a physical form and a strong Nobody. [...] There's a few of them here in Luceti, actually, including mine.

That sounds extremely complicated, not unlike some of the odd experiences from my world.

[Luke's expression darkens]

You...say there are Dark versions of others here in Luceti? Are they not something you should be worrying about?

It's funny how so many of us in Luceti come from odd worlds, isn't it?

[She shakes her head suddenly.] No way. The ones that are here...they're on our side. But there were some people here a few months ago that were pretty dangerous.]

Wait, so...Heartless are bad, but...Nobodys are OK?

[You lost him!]

...sort of! I mean, my brother's technically a Heartless now, but I wouldn't call him bad at all. And there are a lot of Nobodies that are actually bad, but there are a few good guys in the mix. It really just depends on whose rules and beliefs they're following, I think.

[It's cool, sometimes she doesn't quite understand it either.]

Ahh. It all sounds fairly complicated. But definitely something thats better to know rather than not know. Are there many people from your world here?

Well...there used to be a lot more. [She starts counting on her fingers.] There's me, Riku, Xion, Roxas and Luke...we all live in the same house. In another house there's Ven, Aqua, Naminé, Kohan and Kiroku. [Which are names for the Replica Riku, and the Data-Riku. Kairi feels it's important to give them all their own identities.]

We've had a lot of friends come and go over the years.

That is quite a lot. How many of them are...well...not human anymore?

Out of that whole list? Six.

My. And they have all fought along side you against the Darkness in your world?

...for the most part, yeah. There are some that can be seen as a traitor, but he's learned his lesson, I think. The others though were smart and knew that Xemnas was wrong.

Well, thats a relief. The last thing I want to worry about is new enemies within the village.

All of the people you'd ever need to worry about from our world? They're gone. I just hope it stays that way.

Wonderful. There are no people from my world who are dangerous here now, but...should you ever hear the names Palpatine or Exar Kun, my advice would be to run. Fast.
