I don't know about memories between here and home. I've never had a chance to try it.

What about if they were missing back in our world?

Our world was sort of strange. There were a lot of things we didn't remember from our past lives, and didn't realize right away this time. That's all; I was just thinking.

Your past lives, you mean...when you were Senshi? I...could possibly help with that, but it may not be possible. And it'll be fuzzy at best.

Our memories of the past life aren't the only things I don't remember clearly.

But, I might have been wrong to say that. It might be fine as it is now. [She's somewhere between the curiosity about the past - the need to know just what she's done and what's happened to her - and the desire to move on.]

Its never wrong to question if something is possible, Ami-chan. It may be unwise to pursue the course of action, however.

[Almost hesitantly, she nods. She opens it carefully, slipping a fingernail beneath the wrapping to tug it gently loose without ripping. Finally, she has it open and frees the gift from inside.]

[Inside is a familiar looking cylindrical device, molded to fit her hands thanks to measurements Luke took in secret during a training session. The hilt is smooth and well gripped for someone about Ami's size, with soft leather to help avoid calluses]

I hope you like it.

[Ami's eyes widen as she stares into the box.]

It's a lightsaber! [Those same eyes fly to Luke, and after a second, Ami smiles.] Then, you'll have to keep training me.

[Luke nods and beams back at her]

Of course we'll keep training. How does it feel? Is the weight right? I can alter the balance and adjust it, but I think I got the measurements right.

[Ami's eyes never leave the lightsaber as she tests the weight and balance - without activating it, at first. Not here. After a few test movements, she nods.]

You must have planned for this for a long time, to have made it.

A few months, yes. I had hoped to finish it sooner, but I had to get the power cell.

Come to think of it, how would someone get one, here? And she remembers someone telling her Luke had gone on missions. She'd done the same herself for awhile, earning that patch to evade the droids for Usagi.]

I did.

[Luke says it without reservation. He'd needed to go anyway.]

It was the only way. And I disassembled and rebuilt it, just to be sure they hadn't altered it in any way.
