[Luke stands and takes a seat beside her, offering a comforting smile. He doesn't want to leave her alone]

Ami-chan...I feel the same way about Anakin. Its...easier having friends here.

[Ami's doing good to be able to admit the desire that clearly. Luke's support makes it ok that she said it so clearly, and she feels a bit lighter.

Luckily, this time, her body doesn't comply with lightness of its own.]

What if... What if he were to come back as his other self? When he was still in the darkness? [Luke would still love the man he knows, yes, but-] What would you do?

[Luke's statement is simple and grave. He's explained it to her before, the technique of undermining one's opponent, filling them with love.]

[Reminding him of the good still in him. She isn't sure how the idea makes her feel. First, it makes her wonder whether it would truly be effective. Then she finds herself wondering how good that remnant has to be, before it becomes impossible to find any to save them with.

These are heavy thoughts for a pleasant evening, and she shakes them off. She reminds herself to focus on something simpler: Luke would try to reach his father with love.

That, she knows, can work. That, she knows, can be very powerful indeed.]

And your feelings will reach him?

[Luke just nods quietly. His jaw is set, and his mind is determined]

Do you think it can work for anyone?

Yes, of course. What kind of question is that, Ami-chan? Are you worried?

[His voice is highly concerned]

No, it's nothing. A lot of things happen here, so I was just wondering what might be possible, to help in those situations.

I believe so, but tonight isn't meant to be about business. Its supposed to be fun for you.

[Luke takes another sip of his tea and waves a hand, a phonograph in the other room beginning to play some quiet, relaxing music.]

[It feels like an evening designed just for her already, with all the little touches from the gift to the music - a perfect selection.]

I'm talking too seriously again. [She's starting to get better about that. Well, better at recognizing when she's doing it again.]

Its alright, but you should let yourself relax some. Nothing bad's going to happen.

[He smiles and shakes his head, laughing]

If you don't let yourself have some fun, you'll get wrinkles

[There's actually a fraction of a second where Ami starts to reach for her face, before she sheepishly puts her hand back down.]

You shouldn't tease a young lady that way. She'll start to worry for certain then!

[Luke can't do anything but laugh and hold out a hand for Ami]

I'm quite the rogue you know.

[Ami gives Luke her hand as she shakes her head and lets out a sound that can only be described as a giggle.]

I needed to laugh like that.

[Luke pulls her up, using her exceptionally light weight thanks to the shift to bring Ami into a tight hug]

Me too. Its been one of those months.

[Ami lets herself be held for a moment, enjoying the feeling of simple closeness; after just a fraction of a second, she returns the gesture.]

I think it will be alright now.

[Its nice, being this close to someone. A feeling Luke's missed, and is glad to have.]

I know it will be. [Leaving it unstated that its because of her presence]
