21st Transmission [Video/Written/Action] (Forward Dated to March 17)

[Well it's about that time of year, when the weather begins to shift and it's beginning to get to the point where cultivating and preparing to for planting season is becoming a necessity. And to get all this started, Luke needs your help. He opens up the journal and smiles at the camera.]

Good afternoon Luceti,

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Luke Skywalker. For the last couple of years I've been tending to some of the farmlands outside the village, trying to build up emergency stores as well as bringing a bit of self-sufficiency to the enclosure. And as some of you may know, within the last year both Nami and Applejack have both departed, leaving the orchards near the farmland untended. I've been tending to them as best I can, but the vast majority of the help I had with the work has also returned home.

In the interest of better utilizing the space I'd like to request the help of anyone willing to volunteer their time with a bit of manual labor. I'm afraid it's simply not going to be possible to manage it all by myself, and any help would be greatly appreciated. It's beginning to near the planting season, after all. I'm happy to offer whatever services I can provide in exchange.

[There's a pause, and he seems to look somewhere off camera.]

On a related note, if there's anyone who knows anything about building irrigation systems, I'd appreciate any advice.

Loki, I know this is much less interesting than musical theater and cookies, but I was hoping I could get your help with a bit of magical work on the farm.

[his eyes flicker briefly. Disaster. If he laughed, he would have, just then.]

If you call the decimation of the human population by the supposedly inexplicable appearance of man-eating titans disaster, then yeah. You could say that.

[Well, Luke's heard of some strange things both back home, and here in Luceti. Devices that can blow up planets, twenty ton super-carnivores the size of a mountain, actual angels, and the 'goddamn Batman' (Jack Sparrow's least favorite person), but man eating titans is new.

His voice takes an apologetic, but neutral tone.]

I'm sorry to hear that.

[reviling]

Not half as sorry as the people they eat.

[He shakes his head.] It happened a hundred years ago. That's the world I was born into.

Are they still around?

[Did the walls help?]

[reviling]

Yeah, they are. They're very difficult to kill, and we don't know very much about them.

[Like how exactly they come into existence...why they exist at all.]

[thefinaljedi]

[Sounds like a mystery, Scoob!]

Well, at least you and your men have a bit of a break, here.

[Sort of.]

[reviling]

A little.

Not much if we don't want to get complacent.

[thefinaljedi]

As if the Malnosso would let that happen.

[Luke rolls his shoulders and looks up at the sky.]

We're probably due a draft, soon.

[reviling]

Coming from a place where starvation is everywhere and here you can eat as much as you want? Easier than you might think.

[Levi shifts, frowning at that.]

Do you think it will happen soon?

[thefinaljedi]

I don't know, honestly. The last one was over a year ago, now. TERRACE. It's too quiet, honestly. The Third Party is rarely so.

[reviling]

So you think something is going to happen soon.

[that's worrying. He'd rather it have happened shortly after they'd arrived. Now, though, there are other people here he didn't want involved, though it seems as if there's no way to truly keep them back. They'll be as vulnerable as the rest of them. Worse, Levi knows he can't stop them from fighting, if that's what they'll want to do.]

What's with the name TERRACE?

[thefinaljedi]

Sooner rather than later, yeah.

[He looks up at the simulated sky, eyes focused southward.]

TERRACE is a Malnosso fortress. A floating city. It's an acronym for something but I'm not sure offhand for what.

[reviling]

What happened there?

[he's read some vague reports, but hasn't talked to anyone with first hand knowledge. Levi's interested in hearing what Luke has to say about that instead of secondhand information.]

[thefinaljedi]

War. The Third Party had a fleet of airships. And it was a mess. Lots dead, lots more injured. It's shown just how adaptable they can be.

[reviling]

[not what he wants to hear]

How many people died?

[thefinaljedi]

Five or six, on our end. I don't know about Malnosso or Third Party casualties.

[reviling]

[given that he's been on missions where they bring back more than a hundred bodies, five or six doesn't sound like bad odds. But when people can come back to life here, it all seems like needless suffering, and that's what he can't stand.]

More than that I hope.

[thefinaljedi]

[Luke nods gravely. Any death is unfortunate, even if it's short lived.]

Significantly.

[reviling]

[Levi holds in the immediate reaction of saying "Good," - while it is good, since it's about survival, one thing he understands implicitly is that not everything is as it seems.]

So what about you? What's your story?

[thefinaljedi]

My story?

[Luke has to repress a smile. For once someone from Earth didn't know everything about him? That was a refreshing change from the 'I Am Your Father' jokes and requests to see his lightsaber.]

I'm a general in the New Galactic Republic military and the current Grandmaster of the Jedi Order. The Republic is a governing body for the majority of my home galaxy, and the Jedi are an order of peacekeepers and guardians. As for my story here? I'm just trying to do what I can to help out.

[reviling]

So you also have a military background?

[makes sense, if he asked about Levi's experience. But he's also curious about another thing.]

Tell me more about this order.

[thefinaljedi]

I do.

[He pulls back part of his robe, revealing a patch on the cloth beneath, the insignia of the Rebellion.]

The Jedi? You'd probably think of as monks or mystics. We use a power called the Force to manipulate the universe around us, in order to keep the peace and protect civilians.

[reviling]

Monks and mystics. Sounds like a religious cult when you put it that way.

[if his tone is any indication, Levi doesn't seem especially fond of the concept.]

Manipulate? In what way and to what extent?

[thefinaljedi]

It's not a religion. It's just easiest to explain it that way to someone who's not from our galaxy.

[He shrugs and waves a hand at a nearby rock that begins to levitate.]

Many ways. And the extent hasn't been full realized as far as we know. But we can alter our bodies into something beyond human, move objects with our mind, sense things others can't, and do other things that are a bit more esoteric.

[reviling]

[...well isn't that a handy trick.]

Let me get this straight: you can make shit move just by waving your your hand and looking at it?

How is that different from magic? Or is it?
