[Early that morning, Luke rolls out of bed quietly so as not to wake Ami from her Force trance and set about his day. It was a strange thing, really, getting up in the morning and heading into a routine. The week of dreamless sleep had done him a world of good, keeping back nightmares from the draft. Things were getting better. A light breakfast follows, filling the house with smells if housemates are feeling peckish.

For the early part of the day the Jedi went through his typical morning routine. A run around the village, complete with some rather extreme Parkour has him breathing pretty heavy. He stops by the Bakery for a bit of brunch, and then makes his way to the Battle Dome for a bit of practice. Around lunchtime, he can be found at Seventh Heaven and the square before heading out to the Farmland to check on Hamal before heading back to town.

Sometime in the late afternoon, he sends out a Voice message:]

Afternoon everyone, and greetings to any New Feathers who may be listening. As always, I'd like to offer whatever assistance I can. If you need help with something, please let me know.

I've got a bit of a question for anyone who's willing to listen. Is there anything particularly special you do for the end of your first year here? I arrived one year ago, today. And to be honest it's the longest I've spent on a single planet in over a decade. I've got to admit it's a bit of an odd feeling for me.

I've also been curious about people's travel experiences. Have any of you visited other worlds? Or even other continents on your own homeworld? If you haven't, why not?

And on a final note, I regret to inform everyone that Doctor Eggman has returned home again. He was a great help with the farm, and a good friend.

Pinkie, I was wondering if you could help me with something. It involves baking, and I'm not very good at it.

[Then he returns shuts the feed.]

It was closed to keep the foreigners out and preserve peace in our country. [He smiles even though he knows it ended up backfiring horribly.]

The black ships came and we had no choice but to open our doors, but that doesn't stop the prevailing attitude that the foreigners came and imposed their rule where they were not wanted. In a way, it is rather sad, but I do understand in some respects.

[Lance folds his arms and frowns lightly.]

I suppose you're right, however, this past draft was quite the... shock. ... And what is the Force?

Aaaaah, jeez.

[Rin, in his apron, is now rummaging through some stuff behind the counter of Seventh Heaven. As Luke walks in, that is. He's looking for his journal...but]

[Obi-Wan nods and follows him, waiting until they're outside and out of earshot to speak.]

"I wished to apologize for my distance over the past week. I have been avoiding you, and not for any fault of yours."

[Luke turns and nods]

Nothing to apologize for, I knew what you were doing and I appreciated it. I've needed time, as has she. We all have.

[He takes a seat in one of their deck chairs, drawing his dark robes around him]

But we've got to move on. What did you want to talk about?

At times. I've always preferred the quiet to noise. Bit more like home.

Ami and I were going to have dinner, and perhaps play chess or something. That feels appropriate for a quiet date.

That makes sense. The quiet just never sat right with me...

But you're right, that does sound like a mellow date. It's what the both of you need right now too.

[Black...ships? That sounds like something in the book Ami had given him. Very familiar...]

Are you from Japan, sir? I'm not terribly familiar with Earth history, but that sounds like something I read in a book here.

I can only imagine what it was like for you. It was quite a shock for me and I'm from a world with a lot more history with war.

[He smiles at the question]

The Force is an energy field projected by all life. It's a philosophical concept and power from my world. It's something that guides us, and something certain individuals can manipulate or feel.

Hey Rin. Something the matter?

[Luke walks up to the counter]

It's what we all need, frankly.

How was your 'checkup' anyway?

Well enough...I guess. Don't remember any of it, but that was probably intentional.

[There's the sound of a book set aside as soon as Luke addresses her. Her voice is soft, relaxed -- something it hasn't been for a while.]

I'm glad they could be of use, Luke. Really.

Meeting up somewhere is no problem. Have you got a place in mind?

Oh huh, old man! Hey. [Waving. Yeah. He's still On The Job so he should be professional. He straightens himself up and puts on a ...weird smile]

Yes, the first year of Genji. They came when I was very young still and couldn't do anything to stop it.

No ill effects from the return?

They helped save Ami's life.

[That's all he says on the matter]

How about you meet me at the tea shop?

How's it going?

[His eyebrows knit in curiosity]

And...what's up with that goofy grin? Are you up to some sort of prank?

No, I'm being professional.

[...He's a chef. This is one of the reasons he is not up front more]

Ahh, and would you have stopped it if you could?

Oh yea?

[He knows Rin cooks here sometimes, so that does strike him as a bit odd]

What's got you out front today?

[As ~~mountainous~~ beautiful and strong as Mount Fuji? Why yes.]

You luck out. Yours is pretty much exact.

Well, I forget what Luke means, but Skywalker's easy to translate anyway.

Ami told me once. It means Bringer of Light.

Heh. That's pretty fitting if those movies are accurate.

They are the truth of what happened, but I'd hardly call myself that. It's just chance that I have my name, really.
