[Early that morning, Luke rolls out of bed quietly so as not to wake Ami from her Force trance and set about his day. It was a strange thing, really, getting up in the morning and heading into a routine. The week of dreamless sleep had done him a world of good, keeping back nightmares from the draft. Things were getting better. A light breakfast follows, filling the house with smells if housemates are feeling peckish.

For the early part of the day the Jedi went through his typical morning routine. A run around the village, complete with some rather extreme Parkour has him breathing pretty heavy. He stops by the Bakery for a bit of brunch, and then makes his way to the Battle Dome for a bit of practice. Around lunchtime, he can be found at Seventh Heaven and the square before heading out to the Farmland to check on Hamal before heading back to town.

Sometime in the late afternoon, he sends out a Voice message:]

Afternoon everyone, and greetings to any New Feathers who may be listening. As always, I'd like to offer whatever assistance I can. If you need help with something, please let me know.

I've got a bit of a question for anyone who's willing to listen. Is there anything particularly special you do for the end of your first year here? I arrived one year ago, today. And to be honest it's the longest I've spent on a single planet in over a decade. I've got to admit it's a bit of an odd feeling for me.

I've also been curious about people's travel experiences. Have any of you visited other worlds? Or even other continents on your own homeworld? If you haven't, why not?

And on a final note, I regret to inform everyone that Doctor Eggman has returned home again. He was a great help with the farm, and a good friend.

Syre, I wanted to thank you for the notes you left a few weeks ago, and I've got something for you as a token of my appreciation. I can bring it by your apartment, or we can meet somewhere.

[Filtered to Pinkie Pie]

Pinkie, I was wondering if you could help me with something. It involves baking, and I'm not very good at it.

[Then he returns shuts the feed.]

The tea shop sounds great; I was planning on going there in a few moments, anyway.

[And he'll be there, waiting at a window table]

[Syre comes not too long after, sitting across from him and looking... oddly at ease.]

You haven't been waiting too long, have you?

~~Yes, for the tag~~]

No, no. I've only been here a minute. Please, sit down.

[~~Hey, it's not Syre's fault that her mun's an emotional roller-coaster.~~]

[Syre settles into the chair across from him, resting her hands on the table and giving Luke a smile.]

It's nice to meet under less stressful circumstances again. Have you been well?

As well as can be expected, I suppose.

[He shrugs]

Ami's recovering, and my mental state is becoming more and more balanced as time passes. But it's good to see you too, without storming a darkened hospital with an Imperial officer.

Certainly is. [She laughs.] A lot better smelling, too. Had to scrub my clothes for days to get the stench out.

But hearing my whining isn't the reason you wanted to meet up, is it? [She smirks.] You... have something for me, yes? I'm certainly interested.

It's no big deal.

[Luke nods and reaches into a bag, pulling out a book. The title reads Galactic Biochemistry and Biology: A Primer]

You mentioned before you were a biologist. I happened across this and thought it might be of interest to you. And...this.

[He pulls out a leather case filled with several more advanced tools than she might have seen.]

[Pardon her, Luke, but Syre is just going to stare.]

[For a while.]

[Shamelessly.]

... All of this? For me?

[Her voice is filled with awe and gratitude and so much happiness.]

Yes, for you.

[He slides them across the table]

Call it a thank you, for helping save Ami's life.

[There are no words that could describe this moment for her.]

[Syre silently runs a finger along the case, thumbs through the first few pages of the book, before beaming oh-so-thankfully at Luke.]

It's no trouble, really. I'll always be here to help.

Well, regardless, it meant something to me.

[He leans back in his seat and fixes Syre with a long look]

A lot.

[Syre doesn't have to ask why; it's not hard to read, from his words and his expression, that he holds Ami in high regard.]

I see. [She bows her head knowingly, silent a moment before she speaks up again.] She is a very fortunate woman, to have someone that cares for her so.

Perhaps we can arrange a little get-together, when the two of you are 100% again? [A pause, and then, with a sly smile:] It would certainly make up for leaving Spock and I to our own devices on our... previous arrangement.

[High regard doesn't even scratch the surface, Syre, but he nods in admission.]

[Of course, at her cheeky smile, he replies with a weak one of his own, the somber face breaking.]

I figured that would be better than having two other people nosing into your business. I take it the date went well?
