11th Transmission: Seasonal Shifts [Video/Action] (Action Forward Dated Oct. 13)
[In the mid-morning Luke broadcasts a Video feed through the journal system. He stands squarely in front of the camera and speaks in a clear voice. It was a simple, fairly quick message that was open to anyone willing to listen. The seasons were changing and the first real cold snap couldn't be too far away. That meant...harvest time.]
Good morning everyone, this is Luke Skywalker and like usual I've got quite a lot of things to address. Please bear with me, this might get a little lengthy.
First, as this New Feather Cycle comes to a close I would like to welcome every newcomer to our little purgatory. I know things may seem confusing, and I'd like to offer my help to anyone that needs it. I'm willing to help however I can to make your transition as easy as I can, should you require medical assistance, need help moving heavy things, or even just need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me.
Secondly, I would like to thank Doctor Eggman for his instrumental assistance with the farm. He has been an invaluable help towards keeping everything watered and growing smoothly. His hard work has kept the farm running while I have been preoccupied.
Third, if anyone is available to help this weekend, I would greatly appreciate assistance in bringing in the final harvest of the farm's produce. We managed to actually grow quite a lot, and I'd like to make sure it all gets brought in before the frosts set in. I'll be out there all day on Saturday, and while I have some mechanical aid, more hands or hooves would definitely speed the process up quite a bit. Related to that, the food harvested will be added to shops, as well as preserved and stored where we can manage to find room. I've always felt that it's better to have too much food set aside for emergencies than just enough. [He chuckles]
Finally, I'd like to close with a question, as so many people often do. How do people prepare for winter in your world? I admit that this will be my second winter in Luceti but I've never actually been present for a seasonal shift from autumn to winter. I'm from a desert world, so we have very little in the way of actual winter weather.
Thank you for bearing with me, and may the Force be with you.
[End Transmission]
Action:
[Saturday, Luke and Eggman are out and about at the farm, doing their best to collect the harvest with a small flotilla of heavily modified training remotes that have Eggman-style arms attached to pick things. Eggman, of course, is doing zero manual labor, but he's programming robots and maintaining them. A Bantha with large buckets is used to transport the food to the village for storage and consumption, as well as a repulsor-sled. If anyone wants to help with the harvest, the Jedi and the Inventor would definitely appreciate the help.]
(OOC: Tag wherever you'd like and if its an action portion feel free to tag around or thread hop like its a log. I can't promise I'll answer every harvest tag with Luke, but I will try. If you'd like to handwave that your character helped harvest, thats fine too! Lets get all Harvest Moon up inz!)

[She chuckles, only teasing a little as a bit of colour rises to her cheeks from that hand on her shoulder. It was still so...unexpected, the little affectionate gestures she received from Luke but as time went by she recognized them to be similar to those given to her by Adele. It's humbling to find people who care about you that much but she's getting better at accepting it as it comes, her smile more sweet than bitter.]
I've had many people supporting me since then, you, Rei, Adele...I can't thank you enough.
[Action]
[Luke removes his hand and gestures to the droids busying themselves with cutting produce loose to be gathered. They move efficiently and silently, robotic limbs working with an ungainly precision for how awkward they look.]
Sabriel. That's what family does for one another. I'll support you no matter what you do, and I know they will to. Because you're a special person. And we know you'd do the same if the positions were reversed.
[Action]
[Sabriel ducks her head a little shyly, huffing a soft chuckle as she nods.]
It just feels a little strange still. Somehow I've gone from having no family to having a large one. Not that I'm complaining of course, but it does take a little getting used to.
[Action]
[Luke smiles at her shyness]
And I can certainly understand that situation. I lost my family too, and found a new one in my lost sister, and with friends. You've got no reason to worry, we'll help you no matter what.
[Action]
[Just the thought of one of those tiny bots trying to lug a pumpkin around brings a smile to her lips.]
I appreciate it Luke. And...that reminds me of another similarity between us as well.
[This time when she looks up her eyes seem brighter, a quiet excitement in her as she speaks.]
I have a sister. She's here, in Luceti.
[Action]
Do you really? I suppose this is someone you didn't know? I'd thought you were an only child, after all.
[His eyes gleam with excitement as well. That really was very interesting]
[Action]
It seems my father had something of a...'fling' I think the term is, sometime in the last year or so. He didn't know she had been born, and thus he never told me about it. Well, not that it would be something you'd tell your daughter about. She only recently learned about her bloodline as well.
[It may be a little ridiculous but she can't help but giggle. There was so much that Lirael had told her that just...filled her with happiness.]
[Action]
[Luke looks a little embarrassed himself]
Its definitely not like how my sister and I were born. We...were twins.
[But then she smiles]
What else did she tell you? Clearly there's more to the story than that. Different timelines again, I bet. And what's her name?
[Action]
Her name is Lirael, the next Abhorsen-In-Waiting and...she's been traveling with my son, Prince Sameth.
[Action]
I believe I may have spoken with her a few days ago when I made my broadcast. She had a Charter Mark, at least.
[And then his face breaks into a wide, almost paternal smile]
Really? Well then that would make you the Queen, now wouldn't it? By the Force, Sabriel. You must be happy! Not only do you defeat the Dead, but you become the Queen?
[Action]
[Luke's excitement makes her cheeks burn with her blush.]
Y-yes, yes I am.
[Action]
[Luke grins slyly]
Who's the king?
[Action]
Touchstone, he's the last of the Royal bloodline. I...well, I figuratively 'kissed' the sleeping Prince to wake him from his two hundred years of slumber.
[Action]
Did you really? So, Touchstone was under a spell like Nami a few weeks ago then?
[Action]
Not quite, his spirit had been preserved in Death while is body had been changed into a wooden figurehead to keep him safe through the passage of time. I had to return his spirit to Life before properly lifting the spell.
And a breath was all that was needed for that.
[Before you get any funny ideas about her kissing random wooden men.]
[Action]
But, all the same, that...sounds like a very interesting experience. I'm guessing its not common in your world, is it?
[Action]
It was necessary though...if he had not been hidden at the time, he would have died.
[Action]
[Action]
[Action]
[Luke shakes his head and sighs]
It sounds like another similarity to my own family tree, in a way.
[Action]
[Action]
[Luke's tone grows more...serious]
Palpatine was judged against the weight of his crimes, as was Anakin. And so Kerrigor will be too.
