11th Transmission: Seasonal Shifts [Video/Action] (Action Forward Dated Oct. 13)

[In the mid-morning Luke broadcasts a Video feed through the journal system. He stands squarely in front of the camera and speaks in a clear voice. It was a simple, fairly quick message that was open to anyone willing to listen. The seasons were changing and the first real cold snap couldn't be too far away. That meant...harvest time.]

Good morning everyone, this is Luke Skywalker and like usual I've got quite a lot of things to address. Please bear with me, this might get a little lengthy.

First, as this New Feather Cycle comes to a close I would like to welcome every newcomer to our little purgatory. I know things may seem confusing, and I'd like to offer my help to anyone that needs it. I'm willing to help however I can to make your transition as easy as I can, should you require medical assistance, need help moving heavy things, or even just need someone to talk to, feel free to contact me.

Secondly, I would like to thank Doctor Eggman for his instrumental assistance with the farm. He has been an invaluable help towards keeping everything watered and growing smoothly. His hard work has kept the farm running while I have been preoccupied.

Third, if anyone is available to help this weekend, I would greatly appreciate assistance in bringing in the final harvest of the farm's produce. We managed to actually grow quite a lot, and I'd like to make sure it all gets brought in before the frosts set in. I'll be out there all day on Saturday, and while I have some mechanical aid, more hands or hooves would definitely speed the process up quite a bit. Related to that, the food harvested will be added to shops, as well as preserved and stored where we can manage to find room. I've always felt that it's better to have too much food set aside for emergencies than just enough. [He chuckles]

Finally, I'd like to close with a question, as so many people often do. How do people prepare for winter in your world? I admit that this will be my second winter in Luceti but I've never actually been present for a seasonal shift from autumn to winter. I'm from a desert world, so we have very little in the way of actual winter weather.

Action:

[Saturday, Luke and Eggman are out and about at the farm, doing their best to collect the harvest with a small flotilla of heavily modified training remotes that have Eggman-style arms attached to pick things. Eggman, of course, is doing zero manual labor, but he's programming robots and maintaining them. A Bantha with large buckets is used to transport the food to the village for storage and consumption, as well as a repulsor-sled. If anyone wants to help with the harvest, the Jedi and the Inventor would definitely appreciate the help.]

(OOC: Tag wherever you'd like and if its an action portion feel free to tag around or thread hop like its a log. I can't promise I'll answer every harvest tag with Luke, but I will try. If you'd like to handwave that your character helped harvest, thats fine too! Lets get all Harvest Moon up inz!)

Then its doubly nice to meet you, Clint. Steve's a good man.

[With anyone else he'd probably think he was being made fun of but it's impossible to tell here.]

Yeah. He really is.

[He can't help but give a small smile. Steve has that effect on people.]

So what is it you do? Suit of iron, super strength? Turn big and green when you get mad?

[Yes, he's hung out with Hulk. Good guy, all things considered]

I...

[What? Kill things? True, but a bit blunt.]

I see what other people miss. Better than perfect vision. Not a super power I'm afraid.

Hah, thats a power all its own.

[He chuckles]

Better than relying on supernatural vision, really.

It has it's uses. Saved my skin a few times.

But no, I'm just human.

Ditto, nothing wrong with that.

I'm expected to work with superhumans and geniuses. It's easy to feel a little inadequate.

Every team needs a grounding agent. Sounds like that'd be you.

Guess we'll see how that works out.

If what I've heard is true, you work out just fine. Phil Coulson spoke highly of you.

You know... knew Coulson?

[Past tense hurts.]

He was always kinda optimistic.

We met a few times while he was here. A good man. And optimistic, yea.

Yeah, a real good man. I owe him a lot.

I bet. I heard about Loki from him.

[Luke's expression changes just a bit, slightly more neutral]

And about what happened here, from Adele. I don't want to pry too much into your business, but can that be a one time thing? Peace here is tenuous enough.

[He's not even going to bother hiding how he feels about that, the tight anger in his expression gives away all of it.]

Wasn't planning on making another attempt. Don't worry.

I don't believe in peace.

Well, that's up to you. Its not my place to tell you what you should and shouldn't believe.

I appreciate the assurance.

[Luke shrugs, almost apathetic and tosses up a filter for the remainder of the message.]

If Loki acts out of turn or attempts to find vengeance on anyone in the village, you have my word I will help you stop him. I'm able to feel his thoughts, and am doing my level best to temper him. Obi-Wan and I are keeping a close watch on him. Stark is aware of this, and I feel you should be as well.

My experience, it's never been anything more than a chance for two sides to rearm and build up paranoia.

[He relaxes a little with Luke's next words, finding them more reassuring than he'd feared they would be.]

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Can't say I envy you feeling his thoughts.

I... if it had just been me he hurt, I wouldn't have lost it so badly.

Don't worry about it. Its personal, I understand that. Phil's a good guy. But from my perspective, Loki's not even as far gone as my father. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that he's kept busy, and interested.

Jedi Philosophy seems amenable to him so far, and if his way of thinking can be tempered towards that then perhaps he can help the village in some way.

[He chuckles]

And rest assured, I'm more than capable of dealing with him in a fight. Illusions and deception are nothing before the power of the Force.

You're taking this a hell of a lot more calmly than anyone else did.

[Including his own team. Maybe being removed helps. He'd expected more condemnation though.]

It all sounds way outside my realm of experience, but I'm not gonna argue against anything that keeps him occupied and away from plotting.

I'm a Jedi. The Jedi Grandmaster in my timeline. Its...sort of what we do.

[Accept and Let Go, the Jedi way]

If nothing comes of it but an early warning, then its still a win.

Well, I'm grateful. Rare that I lose my temper like that.

[Right, Jedi. His life has become very very strange and there's nothing really to focus him or drag him back when he's about to do something stupid.]

I'm willing to take anything like that as a win at the moment.

Good. Thats all I ask. Try and take it all in stride. I know its difficult living with an enemy. But we're all trapped her, and Loki is hardly the biggest gundark in the pen.

Not the biggest enemy, but... the most personal.

[He shouldn't be entrusting this much to a relative stranger, but he doesn't think Luke is the type to betray a confidence or use it against him.]

Our encounter in my own world left him with...

He knows everything about me. Every last detail, every secret, every part of myself I ever tried to get away from. I've made a life out of keeping myself hidden, keeping secrets. Not something I'm used to dealing with.

That's rough. I've been there myself.

I'm sorry that it went that way. I've...been mentally dominated by enemies before as well.
