9th Transmission: Walking a mile in another Jedi's shoes [Action/Voice]

Groaning, Luke Skywalker rolled over in the warm sun of an early morning. Sitting up, he squeezed the bridge of his nose, blinking all around him. He was out by the lake, and he was still in Luceti. All he could remember was being woken from sleep by a loud banging at his window, and then blackness. Something felt off, that was sure, but he wasn't sure what. Shakily, he got to his feet and dazedly made his way over to the lake.

As he...looked into the lake, her jaw dropped, eyes widening. A female face stared back with the same shocked look, clad in New Feather garb. A familiar face, that of Grandmaster Sunrider, greeted him. To his further surprise the reflection began to speak, echoing through his mind. When it finished, things were a lot clearer. And so was her mind. Turning away from the water, Nomi Sunrider stared at the journal on the ground in front of her. Deep in the back of their mind, Luke Skywalker nodded in agreement. There wasn't much else to be done, if Luke was to be in control it would tax both of them. He knew she'd slipped him into a trance to spare him the pain of experimentation, and now she was willing to take his responsibilities until whatever the Malnosso had done could be undone.

Taking the journal, Nomi opened it up and Luke sent out a message in a distinctly...female voice. They agreed that not everyone needed to know what was going on...at least right away.

[Voice]
"Greetings residents of Luceti. This is Luke Skywalker, and...I'm having a bit of a situation. I was taken by the Malnosso, and I'm feeling a little weak. I am out by the lake, and if anyone could bring a spare suit of clothing, some water, and some pain killers I would be in your debt."

Later that afternoon, and all week, Luke/Nomi can be found around the village. Its pretty weird, even for a Jedi, so...expect lots of confusion and mostly to be speaking to Nomi. Feel free to poke at them throughout the week, just denote a day.

Yes, I have some vague recollection of these events. I'm not sure when I started to wake up, but it was some time around then.

Then... could it be you're aware of everything that's happened to him in Luceti? [That... is potentially somewhat embarrassing if she lets Valentine's Day come into her mind.]

Ah, that- The Malnosso sometimes... change how we act towards each other.

[Except she's not entirely sure it's just the Malnosso. Oh, it definitely had been back then - she hadn't even known him well - but since then, she's come to know him.]

I understand, Ami. But there is more to the story than that, yes?

[Nomi smiles at her mischievously. She knows, and she knows what Luke knows...]

Ah- no, not really. [She gives a smile that comes off somewhat shy, ducking the question to the best of her ability. It's a futile effort, when Nomi's already seen everything, but she can't make herself own up to it.]

I'm sure this is a conversation you and Luke should be having, and not me. I'd just like to remind you that Luke cares about you, very, very deeply.

[With that, she abruptly changes the topic, finishing off the first bottle of water with a satisfied look]

So, I understand that Luke has been teaching you to fight with a lightsaber?

A little bit. Some of the movements are similar to a sword, but, the differences are enough that I still have a lot to learn. I'm fortunate that he's a patient teacher.

From what I've seen, you're grasping the concepts rather well. Your other half is quite an impressive warrior, you know. Her power reminds me of the Vos, with how attuned she is to an element.

[Her other half?!... Of course. Of course Grandmaster Sunrider knows about the senshi, if Luke does. A chill of surprise runs through Ami anyway, no matter how she tells herself it's alright. Luke trusts this person and, well, that means she can trust the grandmaster, too, a little bit.]

Could you be referring to the water?

Yes, Water, Ice, your sorcery.

[She smiles knowingly, fingers pinching the bridge of her nose]

Don't fret, Ami. Your secret is safe with me. I'll not tell a soul.

[Ami finds a smile with only the smallest hint of shakiness to it.]

Thank you for that. Even though I know Luke trusts you, so I should also trust you, it's an important secret."

I know, don't worry. You and your friends are safe from me.

Why don't we head into town, Ami? I'm feeling capable of the walk, but I'd rather have someone around just to be sure.

I don't mind coming along, but are you sure you're feeling alright to do it?

That, my dear, is why I'm glad you are here. If I need to take a rest, then stop me.

As long as you promise to listen when I say so, I can make sure to do that.

Of course, Doctor. I take medical advice very seriously.

[She stands up and starts walking, not quickly, but steadily.]

[There's just a second before Ami hurries a few steps to catch up. She smiles quietly to herself: Luke and Nomi really are similar.]

Luke said something like that a little while ago.

Did he now? I wonder why that was?

[A half smile, knowing...]

I think it would be because he wants to take care to heal properly. [Right? Right?]

We can only assume.

[A conspiratorial smirk]

[It's a comfortable assumption. Ami takes a quick glance at Nomi to be sure she isn't tiring yet, and keeps herself following Nomi's pace.]

When we arrive, please rest right away. I'll take care of the rest.

[She isn't, not yet.]

Of course. I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.

We can rest by the fountain. It's a nice place, and everything you could need is close to there.

That sounds nice. I'm just hoping that my presence isn't too disruptive for the other residents, or Luke.
