Oh wow... [Colour Wanda impressed. Luke is the top of his world's totem pole, and here she is, getting to chat with him like he's just some normal guy. ] That's-- wow.

It's not war. It's a series of films from your world that just happen to be about...well...me and my friends.

Well that's up to you. I really don't mind, Wanda. Enough people here have seen them, and they're all set years in my past.

[Wanda shifts uncomfortably. She doesn't really watch movies, because she gets bogged down with all the things happening, and ends up having to ask questions the entire time. Knowing that it's actually someone's home movies...? That sounds awful.] If... you want.

[Luke shrugs and smiles placatingly, sensing her unease.] It's up to you entirely, Wanda. Just tell me sometime if you'd like to. They're not bad.

Sure. I mean-- yes, please. [The friend of a friend of a friend is her friend, or... something like that, at least.]

Artoo, why don't you come out?

[At the command, a small blue and white droid rolls out of the barn, twittering happily. Hello people, how are you?]

[Wanda's back straightens at the sight of the little droid, quickly looking to Remy, then Luke for confirmation. She's not exactly had good experiences with Robots back in her world, and the white and blue colouring reminds her of Apocalypse. ]
Ahh... this-- is your friend?

[Artoo twitters and rocks back and forth on his little legs happily.]

Yeah. Little guy's been with me a long, long time. He's an astromech droid...sort of like a mechanic for star-fighters, and he's also a navigation computer.

[Well. A mechanic is at least not a-- sentinel. And it does look very... non threatening. Almost like a trashcan.]

I... didn't realize the malnoso were taking robots, too. Um. ... Hello, there. [She cocks her head to the side and raises one hand in a hesitant, uncertain wave.]

How long he been here? [Merde, that was cool. That little guy was a great off-sider in the movies.

This was all feeling more and more star-studded, on top of the arrival of Han and Leia. Chewy next?]

[Slowly, Artoo's worker hand extends to wave back. Doot deet doot!]

He's been here almost as long as I have.

Is-- he. Um. Smart? [Careful, Wanda, you're getting into Pot-Kettle territory, there. She waves again, experimentally. ]

He's...well, actually by Earth standards he's got more processing power than every computer on the planet.

[She has no idea what that means.] So... he's like a person, then?

Essentially yes. Most droids have some degree of sentience. Artoo here has more than most. He's pretty much my best friend, and his counterpart, C-3PO may as well be a particularly...irritating...person.

'Are Two.' ... Sorry for all the questions. The robots where I'm from aren't-- really friend material. [She apologizes to the little droid, leaning to be more on it's level as she speaks.] It's... nice to meet you.

[Artoo twitters cheerfully and Luke explains.] It's short for R2-D2. And I understand that. He's...a little unusual here. Even by Luceti standards, droids are...not...normal.

'Are Two Dee Two'... [That... is a weird name. But her Father calls himself 'Magneto' so she's not about to question it.] He-- beeps a lot. Can he not speak? ... The ones back home can speak. [She winces, catching herself talking to Luke, instead of just asking Artoo itself, again. Not very polite.]

Not Basic, no. [He pauses...] Basic is the standard galactic language. He only speaks Binary and Bocce and...doesn't have wings to translate. That's why it sounds like beeps.

Aww. It's... a cute language, whatever it is. [She says to Artoo, before looking back at Luke.] ... I feel bad, talking about him when he's right here.

Well, he understands. [A twitter] And he doesn't mind. I've mostly been translating what he's saying anyway.

You speak-- beep? [Her eyes light up a little.] That must-- oh I wish I could hear you speak like that. That would be incredible! [Stupid auto-translating wings.]

Binary. And no, I just understand it. It's hard for a human vocal range to mimic. Though, there are plenty of other species that can.
