Good morning, anyone who may be listening in at this hour. I have a few questions, for anyone who may or may not be so inclined to answer them.

Firstly, does anyone remember anything that happened last weekend at all? I have spent the last few days meditating, and it seems worrisome that several days have just blanked out of my mind. I feel as though something important happened, but I can't remember.

Secondly, does anyone around here know anything about acquiring power supplies for machinery? I've broached the topic with a few others, but I would like to ask everyone as a whole. I'm attempting to reconstruct some of the technology from my world and would need a few small odds and ends to do so.

Finally, I'm told by some people in the village that there is a series of popular movies...that apparently are about me and the other members of the Rebel Alliance. I...find myself curious, and would very much like to see these for myself. I will admit the thought unnerves me a little, but I'd like to know if anyone has a copy they would be willing to share.

Oh, how rude of me! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Doctor Eggman, a world renowned scientist and robotics expert! It's a pleasure to meet you, Luke!

It is an honor to meet you, Doctor. May I inquire, what sort of robots you have constructed? That's actually what I'm working on now. Droids, from my home Galaxy.

Oh, you are? This is splendid news! I've been working on a few designs myself, but finding a suitable power source is tricky. [Eggman feels like revealing his true nature to this fellow might not be the best idea just yet. So a white lie it is.] Back home, I specialised in security robots for the most part, although I've built a few personal assistants and medical mechs in my time...

That is the problem I'm having. Powering the darned things is where I'm stuck. Aside from these weak batteries, anything else it seems like I'd have to synthesize myself.

At home, I'm mostly a pilot, but I dabble in mechanics and I've learned to build droids all on my own.

I pilot a few things myself, but my specialist subject is mechanics! Ho ho ho!

Power sources are tricky to come across in this place. I've been working on a super-battery for a while but admittedly my success has been limited. However, there are one or two power sources from my own world that I haven't tried yet.

Maybe if we put our collective knowledge together we can make some progress on that front. I'm told there are a few other scientists who are fairly skilled. Have you tried getting some of their input?

I talk to one or two scientists, but most of them are too small-time to understand robotics. In fact, there's only really one other scientist I consort with, but he doesn't seem keen on the idea of building robots to serve man. Seems to think they're people! Ba ha ha!

Oh? Serve man in what way? Where I come from, Droids are constructed to help sentients all over the Galaxy. They do nearly everything. However, sometimes they develop personalities, and quirks. They're hardly mindless, despite being machines. I have two droids who have saved my life a hundred times over. But, maybe the level of programming is different in your world and mine.

I've created a few super-intelligent robots in my time, but the problem with those is they develop too much personality! When you're building robots in the field of security, you have to be careful. You don't want your mechs to decide they don't like security anymore and say, kidnap their owner and try and conquer the world.

I agree. In my home galaxy, nearly every government has outlawed the production of assassin droids and other machines like that. For that very reason. Battle Droids have fallen out of favor after the Clone Wars as well, because war droids are less reliable than real people. We're careful about those sorts of machines, because its been discovered that they invariably WILL develop errors in programming and turn on their creators.

My two droids, R2D2 and C3P0 are a mechanic/navigation and translation and protocol droids respectively. Those...well they are a bit less dangerous to give personalities too.

In my world, robots are considered the most effective soldiers in war. [At least by Eggman.] The Guardian Unit of Nations employs humans as soldiers, but they tend to favour robot drones and battle mechas above all else. It's curious that your galaxy favours people as soldiers... [And Eggman smirks.] But then I suppose with cloning technology available, human life must seem pretty insignificant! Ho ho ho!

[Imagine that. An entire clone army of Eggmans!]

That isn't true, Doctor. Sentient life is something worth treasuring above anything else, even a clone. The cloning technology didn't create mental copies, only genetic ones. And the clones that were made before the technology was lost lead healthy lives. According to some, the majority of the Galaxy has at least one descendant of the primary clone on every planet.

Droids, at least, can be repaired. People cannot.

It's a shame the technology was lost. Imagine the possibilities with that!

But speaking of droids, I'm sure we both have robotics to work on. As much as I enjoyed this chat, perhaps we should wrap this up until we can arrange a meeting to work on some designs together!
