4th Transmission, again with the questions... [Video]

Good morning, anyone who may be listening in at this hour. I have a few questions, for anyone who may or may not be so inclined to answer them.

Firstly, does anyone remember anything that happened last weekend at all? I have spent the last few days meditating, and it seems worrisome that several days have just blanked out of my mind. I feel as though something important happened, but I can't remember.

Secondly, does anyone around here know anything about acquiring power supplies for machinery? I've broached the topic with a few others, but I would like to ask everyone as a whole. I'm attempting to reconstruct some of the technology from my world and would need a few small odds and ends to do so.

Finally, I'm told by some people in the village that there is a series of popular movies...that apparently are about me and the other members of the Rebel Alliance. I...find myself curious, and would very much like to see these for myself. I will admit the thought unnerves me a little, but I'd like to know if anyone has a copy they would be willing to share.

The Force is something that resides in all things, with two sides. The Light Side and the Dark Side. It's an intangible field of energy that binds the universe together. Jedi learn to manipulate it, and healing is one of the things that it is able to do.

That's good. Is there a similar concept in your world?

It is also worth noting that tapping into either side all but excludes you from using the other side. The Dark Side can heal, but it will taint the healing, and the Light Side cannot be used to directly harm living things directly. As a Jedi, I tap into the Light, which is used mainly to augment my own powers, heal, and defend.

[She avoids it, just slightly.] A concept of balance between good and evil. It's a common idea in many philosophies.

True enough. What drove you to be a doctor? You seem young for the profession. [Admittedly, droids handle most medicine in his galaxy but...]

[She is young; the youngest in her world, according to rumor there. She's proud of that accomplishment, but modesty compels her to simply focus on her reasons.]

My mother is also a doctor. I wanted to follow in her footsteps. And, along the way, I learned I also want to be able to heal people for my own sake and theirs.

Family. A good reason for most things. [Be glad he didn't follow in HIS father's footsteps...]

I admire that. Becoming a healer takes a dedication most haven't got. Even among the Jedi, with the Force to guide them, so few take up that calling. It is a difficult path to tread indeed.

It required a lot of hard work and studying along the way. And even being able to commune with Nala here took a lot of patience to seek her out.

But, while I can do these things, I can be useful and helpful to everyone.

It is a most wonderful talent to have, and healers are always appreciated. I know I've relied on them many times in the past.

[There's that name again. He's not familiar...]

Tell me, is Nala one of the local spirits?

Yes, she's one of the filial spirits in Luceti, willing to grant us their powers with training and effort to seek them out.

Most interesting. Perhaps I should try to find one of the spirits, and chat with them. What sort of creatures are they?

They have different temperaments, like people. Nala is very kind, and patient.

Are they physical beings, or ethereal ones?

They're spirits; ethereal. That's a part of why it takes so long to contact some of them, I think.

It could be. Are any of them aggressive or dangerous?

I wouldn't call them dangerous. When they disapprove, they're more likely to just stay away.

Fair enough. Its strange that a place houses them, yet has no dark spirits to counterbalance that. Call me crazy, but I don't exactly think of this place as paradise.

This is probably the opposite of what could be called a paradise. [She's never been good at keeping a positive outlook without a lot of effort, and Luceti isn't exactly designed to help that.]

[Finally, someone who shares his outlook on the place!]

Yea. Being stuck on, no offense, a backwater planet with people from all over is not my idea of a grand getaway. I rarely stay on one world longer than a few days.

It's not the place that's the problem. It's what the Malnosso have done. [She tactfully steers Luke away from criticizing the planet and the land.]

True enough. I dunno, it's just odd, being here as long as I have. I feel like...well...like I'm missing something important at home. Have you ever felt like that?

[Of course, thats something of a rhetorical question...]

Some very important things had happened just before I came here. I like to hope that everything has returned to normal back there.

So, I hope I'm not missing more important things.

[Mako-chan's wedding... if time were passing in her world, that should be about now, or soon; perhaps this Spring. Makoto and Motoki had gotten engaged just before Ami returned to Luceti, after all.]

[This sparks ANOTHER question, one that he'd been skeptical of since hearing it...]

Is it true that time stands still in our world while we're gone? I'm told there have been quite a few people leave and return, and I get the impression you've been here for some time.

Yes, it's true.

I was here for a year. After that, I returned to my world. There was no sign I'd been gone; and I forgot Luceti entirely.

Four years later, I came back. Only a week had passed here. We're outside normal time for our worlds.

Well, in some ways that is a relief. In others, a new worry. You say we forget our time here? So...its like being caught in limbo. That...is truly strange.
