21st Transmission [Video/Written/Action] (Forward Dated to March 17)

[Well it's about that time of year, when the weather begins to shift and it's beginning to get to the point where cultivating and preparing to for planting season is becoming a necessity. And to get all this started, Luke needs your help. He opens up the journal and smiles at the camera.]

Good afternoon Luceti,

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Luke Skywalker. For the last couple of years I've been tending to some of the farmlands outside the village, trying to build up emergency stores as well as bringing a bit of self-sufficiency to the enclosure. And as some of you may know, within the last year both Nami and Applejack have both departed, leaving the orchards near the farmland untended. I've been tending to them as best I can, but the vast majority of the help I had with the work has also returned home.

In the interest of better utilizing the space I'd like to request the help of anyone willing to volunteer their time with a bit of manual labor. I'm afraid it's simply not going to be possible to manage it all by myself, and any help would be greatly appreciated. It's beginning to near the planting season, after all. I'm happy to offer whatever services I can provide in exchange.

[There's a pause, and he seems to look somewhere off camera.]

On a related note, if there's anyone who knows anything about building irrigation systems, I'd appreciate any advice.

[Shutting off the feed, he sends out two private messages.]

Loki, I know this is much less interesting than musical theater and cookies, but I was hoping I could get your help with a bit of magical work on the farm.

Law, I figure we should probably revisit some of those supply caches and check on them. Possibly restock and take care of a few other things down that vein.

Wait, there's aliens and human..droids? Are they the same thing?

[thefinaljedi]

No. No. Aliens that are humanoid. And then droids. Droids aren't alive, they're machines. You might call them robots.

[pokeboy]

Uh, robots? [Hmm...] So they're just- [thinking here] they're like special computers?

[During all of this, Saur has quietly sneaked out. (less sneaking, more like just out and turned and gone to have a look at the farm.)]

Well, something like that, yes. They're computers, but they've got a degree of autonomy. They can think and act on their own. Form opinions, and have their own ideas and personalities.

[pokeboy]

That's alive, isn't it? [Tilting his head.] It sounds alive to me.

[thefinaljedi]

In a way. They're sentient, but with some restrictions on what they can do. Most droids are programmed so that they won't harm someone, for instance.

[pokeboy]

Hmm, but... that still means they're alive, doesn't it? It just means they can't do some things. If someone made it so I couldn't hurt people, I'd still be alive.

[thefinaljedi]

Some people might disagree, but I certainly don't. They're just...built, not born.

[pokeboy]

[It's bad some might not think they're alive, but it's nice to hear that hey, Luke isn't one of them.]

In my world, there's pokémon that look like machines... Kind of. Like voltorb and magnemite. Some people even think voltorbs used to be pokéballs!

--oh yeah, and there's this pokémon they made, they say. Parry...long? [Was that it? ...anyway-] But it's a human made pokémon.

Well, whatever that last one is, it sounds possibly like a droid.

[Luke reaches into the folds of his robe and presses a small transmitter, activating another surprise that'll turn up soon.]

Not all droids are sentient, that is, capable of thought. Some are just drones, they have a pre-programmed routine, and can't deviate from that. But there are droids back home that are as much family to me as my sister.

[pokeboy]

You have a sister? [Oh!] Is she older?

[Red's going to touch up the side of Hamal's face that he can one more time, then take notice to his Saur that's wandered off. Oh, did she go out? But- better not just walk off himself.]

[thefinaljedi]

No, no, she's my twin. We're the same age.

[He chuckles and doesn't seem to notice the missing pokemon. She's safe, he knows, easily able to feel her presence in the Force.]

[pokeboy]

[If only Red had a handy Force to tell him the hows and wheres of his pokémon. But he decides then to take that time to peek his head out of the door, seeing Saur standing around.]

Saur, you okay? [She looks back.] Are you sunning?

[The pokémon responds, and Red brings his head back inside.] Is Hamal going to help us today?

[thefinaljedi]

Not today, no. [Luke gives the big beastie another pat.]

Today, we're just going to clear out some of the overgrown parts of the orchard. He's a bit too big for that, really, and the stuff he helps with is more heavy lifting.

[pokeboy]

Oh, yeah! [Didn't they discuss this?] That's right, and Ivysaur can help out this with her vines. And then anything Snorlax can eat we can keep, right?

[thefinaljedi]

[They did!]

That sounds good to me. I'm guessing Snorlax is a big eater, huh?

[pokeboy]

He's the biggest everything. Not as big as Hamal, but nearly as big. He's really strong and stubborn too, but he's not so bad.

[thefinaljedi]

Well, there should be plenty for everyone, so, he's welcome to it.

[pokeboy]

[ Red doesn't know about plenty for everybody, but. ]
