[Well it's about that time of year, when the weather begins to shift and it's beginning to get to the point where cultivating and preparing to for planting season is becoming a necessity. And to get all this started, Luke needs your help. He opens up the journal and smiles at the camera.]

Good afternoon Luceti,

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Luke Skywalker. For the last couple of years I've been tending to some of the farmlands outside the village, trying to build up emergency stores as well as bringing a bit of self-sufficiency to the enclosure. And as some of you may know, within the last year both Nami and Applejack have both departed, leaving the orchards near the farmland untended. I've been tending to them as best I can, but the vast majority of the help I had with the work has also returned home.

In the interest of better utilizing the space I'd like to request the help of anyone willing to volunteer their time with a bit of manual labor. I'm afraid it's simply not going to be possible to manage it all by myself, and any help would be greatly appreciated. It's beginning to near the planting season, after all. I'm happy to offer whatever services I can provide in exchange.

[There's a pause, and he seems to look somewhere off camera.]

On a related note, if there's anyone who knows anything about building irrigation systems, I'd appreciate any advice.

Loki, I know this is much less interesting than musical theater and cookies, but I was hoping I could get your help with a bit of magical work on the farm.

[Give her a minute-- she thinks it makes sense. But it's a little difficult to figure out what that means in terms of things she knows.]

So it's like... what keeps spirits and the world together, in balance and stuff? ...Or worlds.

[She remembers there's more than one! ...A bit belatedly.]

That's right. It's both light and dark, and it's something found wherever there is life. It's energy is what gives us life, and it's what we return to when we pass on.

[Good on Toph!]

I always thought people went to the spirit world when they died.

[Toph pauses, considering something, then shrugs.]

It kind of sounds like the same thing, though.

It depends on how you choose to view it. Becoming one with the Force is similar to going to the spirit world.

[He shrugs too.]

At least, as Aang's explained it to me.

I guess that'd make sense. And Aang's the expert, so I guess I'll go with that.

[Toph sounds quite a bit more chipper now that she can move on from anything touching spirit mumbo jumbo.]

Thanks, Mister. About your project thing? If you need some dirt or rocks moved sometime, I'll give you a hand. Can't say I'm all that good with plants, though.

[He chuckles. Something about the girl in the picture was familiar, like he'd met her before, but then, Aang's friends were sort of all over the place.]

You can call me Luke. And actually, that would be really helpful. Guessing you're an Earthbender, like Aang?

Yeah. I'm Toph. And I'm not just any Earthbender, I'm the best in the world.

[So much pride in a short package.]

Well, Toph, it's good to meet you. Good to know there's a little legend around.

I'm not that little. But I guess it's nice to meet you too.

Well, good. Are you from Aang's timeline, or Korra's? Or somewhere in between?

[Because he's given up keeping track of Benders.]

Aang's. I taught him Earthbending.

[Toph laughs.]

It's still pretty weird to think about it like that.

Did you? Well, if he learned from the best, then all the better.

[Luke really can't help but laugh right back.]

So, you're willing to help me out then? What would you want in return?

I dunno. I was just thinking it'd be a good way to see how much my earthbending's actually changed here. Like... I know I can't sense things nearly as far.

[Toph pauses.]

Moving dirt and rocks is baby stuff, but that just makes it easier to get a feel for it.

Well, it's something that'd take a lot more effort for me. I'd like to build a kind of irrigation ditch to the river, but it needs to be a lot longer than I can feasibly do my myself.

Don't worry, I can get it done in no time. I just have to know where it is and how long it's gotta be.

That would be great. I guess my only question is how precise you can be? It's not very far from the farmlands and the river, but I'm hoping for something smooth or something I can line with something to make smooth.

[Toph laughs proudly.]

If it's rock or dirt, I'm pretty sure I can make it smooth if it isn't already. Rock's easier, not so many little pieces to keep track of, but I can do it. No problem.

Well, it's a mix of both. And you've got no idea how much simpler you're making things, Toph.

[Seriously, it'd have taken weeks to dig all that out.]

Eh, I'll make it work. I like a good challenge.

[She pauses.]

I don't think I wanna imagine having to do it the hard way.

Well, I can do a lot of things, but Earthbending is not among them.

[He laughs happily enough.]

When's a convenient time for you?

Huh, well... anytime somebody can point me in the right direction, I guess. Sooner the better with like... crops, right?

[She remembers that, kind of, from her tutors back at home. But that was awhile ago...]

Well, I'm heading up there this afternoon. If you're not busy, I can meet you in the town square later.

Yeah, that'll be fine. I don't exactly have a whole lot to do.

[Not yet, anyway.]

Alright, I'll be there in ten minutes or so.

[And...there he shall be!

[Toph's not that far from the square, so it's really just a matter of waiting and listening for the right voice.]
