1st Transmission, A Skywalker sprouts wings [Action, Voice]

Action
[Sometime around midday, not too far from the road, Luke Skywalker finds himself sprawled face-down and shirtless in the grass. It's colder than he remembers it being when he went to sleep, and the ground is wet. With a grunt, the Jedi pushes himself up, surprised to feel an awkward burning sensation in the middle of his back.]

"Geez, where in blazes am I? Artoo, where are we?"

[No answer, naturally]

"Artoo? Oh great...why do I have the feeling that I'm not on Corellia anymore?"

[Luke stands up, his foot brushing against a strange, leatherbound book.]

"Oh hello, whats this?"

[Picking it up, Luke begins thumbing through it, seeking some sort of answers. Upon finding the guide, Luke spends a fair bit of time pouring over it, attempting to digest his situation before slowly beginning to make his way into town, feeling out with the Force]

Voice
[Luke's feeling a bit better, having recovered his clothes and lightsaber, so he begins to address the voice recorder. He takes a very calm, casual tone until he addresses the Malnosso, his voice gaining to an authoritative, icy edge.]

Good afternoon, anyone who may be listening to this. My name is Luke Skywalker, and it appears that I've been...brought here to stay for a time. I'm not sure if thats the right way to word it, but as I am unfamiliar with the local customs, please forgive me. If anyone has seen a small blue astromech droid wandering around, please let me know. Also, if any of the...Malnosso are listening, I'd like some sort of explanation on your reasoning for bringing me here.

(ooc: Feel free to post anywhere, in town, in the woods, wherever.)

Like wise.

[And with that, Derek will close his own journal, giving the book a sidelong glance before settling it to a nearby table. Still not used to it...

It doesn't take the hunter long to make his way to the lake shore. Even though he was still having trouble with placing people and events, he'd more or less come to terms with the layout of the village fairly quickly. Granted, there'd been missteps, but over all, the mental map he had in his head proved to be reliable.

Once he gets there, he'll crouch next to the water, running his fingertips in the soft but chilly ripples in an unconscious habit. He feels a tingle for a moment, and draws his hand away, frowning. He's probably still trying to place that sensation when Luke shows up.]

[It doesn't take Luke very long to arrive, whereupon he walks right up to Derek]

Good afternoon.

Hey.

[Derek will reflexively hold out a hand to shake, even if he isn't sure if Luke would recognize the gesture.]

Nice to meet you.

[Luke returns the shake. Its pretty universal]

Same to you.

[The hunter's handshake is firm but careful, and his hand is well-calloused from wielding a variety of weaponry. He'll let go fairly quickly, leaning against a tree trunk with his arms folded.]

So...this thing about me knowing what the Sith are. You might want to sit down, or whatever you do to take weird news in.

[Luke nods, mentally bracing himself but standing still. His eyes lock onto Derek's and don't shift]

Alright, fire away.

[Action]

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-11-16 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Derek nods. Yeah, this is gonna be a weird conversation. He hesitates while he tries and thinks of the best way to put things. Finally, he just decides to go for direct.]

Where I'm from, we don't have Jedi and the like. They don't exist. Except...we do have entertainment that tells us about you guys...and you and your friends specifically. Movies...books. Things like that. Which is how I know what Sith are, and what they do.

[Luke's mouth hangs open for a moment]

Wait...huh? Run that by me again.

(OOC: Aha, here's the post!))

[Derek chuckles a little bit, smiling]

Yeah, that's a bit much to swallow, isn't it?

Where I'm from? You're in stories, but nothing more.

[Action]

[identity profile] thefinaljedi.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luke nods]

That...wow. Thats very strange. Can you tell me a bit about these stories?

[Action]

You wanna know how we tell the stories, or what we told?

[Action]

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Where to start, then...? It was a lot of story to cover]

The stories start with you as a young man on Tatooine, wanting to be a pilot, living with your aunt and uncle. An Alliance ship gets into a fight with an imperial one off world, and two droids get jettisoned to your world during the fire fight, with a message for an old man living on the planet. When the driods land, the jawas take them in, and then you and your uncle buys them. Finding the message, you follow the one driod, R2, to the old man, and that's where your story really starts.

Sound familiar so far?

[Derek gathers he thoughts for what he wants to say next. It takes him a minute before he starts up.]

Come to find out, the old man is a jedi master who knew your father, and the message is from an ally of his in the Alliance. You want to go save her, and follow in your father's footsteps. I don't rememeber if you were headed back to your aunts and uncle's home after that, but you find the jawa transport, taken apart and burned and made to look like the sand tuskers had done it. But you two figure out it was storm troopers, and you get back to the farm...where they'd pretty much did the same thing to your home, and your family.

[Derek pauses here, then adds as a quiet aside,] I'm really sorry about that, Luke. It's not easy to lose your family. Especially like that.

[Luke listens, and smiles somewhat wistfully at the sentiment]

Its alright Derek. I made my peace with that decades ago. This all does sound like what happened all those years ago. The leadup to the Battle of Yavin.

[Derek's own expression is an echo of Luke's wistfulness and a little sorrow as well as he nods in reply]

Yeah. There was that, the Death Star. Hoth...then Endor. I think there were more stories before and after that, but those are the ones I know; grew up on them in fact.

[There's a slight smile with that memory; a good one, out of all the horrible ones he has in his head.]

Kinda always wanted to be a jedi myself. My friend liked Han better though.

[Luke can't help but smile a bit at the last bit]

So, you grew up on our war stories? Certainly something to think about, and it kinda makes me wonder how that happened. Our worlds so separate, but linked.

Guess that might make you a bit uneasy, being around a character from a story. Hopefully it won't be too much trouble.

God works in mysterious ways, or so I'm told. Can't see why if one world can exist in one place, a completely different one can't exist somewhere else. Not like the universe isn't big enough for all of it.

Might be a little strange, but I'm used to that. My job back home involves hunting monsters most of the world thinks are just stories too...at least until the monsters come after them.

Gotta be weird to find out you're a story on someone else's world, though. So I guess if you're cool with it, I'm cool with it.

Stranger things have happened, Derek. Thanks for telling me. D'you think many people here have heard these stories?

[Action]

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2011-12-01 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hard to say, to tell the truth. I've met people that seem to be from my own world, but a lot of times, there are differences, some subtle, and some not so much. I'm thinking maybe some of them would know you, and others wouldn't. Probably be hard to tell though which it is unless they tell you.
