13th Transmission: A Year in Review. [Action/Voice]

[Early that morning, Luke rolls out of bed quietly so as not to wake Ami from her Force trance and set about his day. It was a strange thing, really, getting up in the morning and heading into a routine. The week of dreamless sleep had done him a world of good, keeping back nightmares from the draft. Things were getting better. A light breakfast follows, filling the house with smells if housemates are feeling peckish.

For the early part of the day the Jedi went through his typical morning routine. A run around the village, complete with some rather extreme Parkour has him breathing pretty heavy. He stops by the Bakery for a bit of brunch, and then makes his way to the Battle Dome for a bit of practice. Around lunchtime, he can be found at Seventh Heaven and the square before heading out to the Farmland to check on Hamal before heading back to town.

Sometime in the late afternoon, he sends out a Voice message:]


Afternoon everyone, and greetings to any New Feathers who may be listening. As always, I'd like to offer whatever assistance I can. If you need help with something, please let me know.

I've got a bit of a question for anyone who's willing to listen. Is there anything particularly special you do for the end of your first year here? I arrived one year ago, today. And to be honest it's the longest I've spent on a single planet in over a decade. I've got to admit it's a bit of an odd feeling for me.

I've also been curious about people's travel experiences. Have any of you visited other worlds? Or even other continents on your own homeworld? If you haven't, why not?

And on a final note, I regret to inform everyone that Doctor Eggman has returned home again. He was a great help with the farm, and a good friend.

Adele, I haven't heard from you since we got back. Are you doing well? I've been worried.

Syre, I wanted to thank you for the notes you left a few weeks ago, and I've got something for you as a token of my appreciation. I can bring it by your apartment, or we can meet somewhere.

[Filtered to Pinkie Pie]

Pinkie, I was wondering if you could help me with something. It involves baking, and I'm not very good at it.

[Then he returns shuts the feed.]

(OOC: If you want to run into Luke somewhere, go for it. He'll be all over town today)

That makes sense, yes.

[Luke takes a moment, thinking back to the times when people he'd known had disappeared and returned...and he can't really remember it.]

Truthfully? I've never heard of such a thing happening, but if it happened to you, then I suppose it's entirely possible it's occurred before. It's possible that the Malnosso left it with you because it was significant in some way. What was it you found?

And may I ask your name, miss? I don't believe we've met before. I'm Luke.

[fourteen]

... it was a ring. It was really pretty, but... I don't think it belonged to me. It belonged to that boy.

[ A pause, and she actually giggles quietly. ] I'm Xion. It's funny... you and that boy have the same name. He's called Luke, too.

Hmm, well, I'm sorry I can't give you a straighter answer than that. It's entirely possible it's happened before, but clearly it means something to the two of you.

[He blinks to himself, remembering several conversations with a friend who'd long since departed. Kairi had mentioned a Xion...and he'd met a boy named Luke Von Fabre several times.]

His name wouldn't happen to be Luke Von Fabre, would it? A young man with red hair? We've met a few times. And...on a similar note, you don't happen to have a Keyblade do you? Someone I met here, a girl named Kairi, told me about a friend named Xion being here.

[fourteen]

That's what's confusing. How can I have something meaningful when... I don't even know him? I guess I knew him before, but... it's just strange.

[ A sigh. Of course, his follow-up questions pull her up short. She makes a noise of surprise, even, before she cuts herself off. Kairi... Kairi was here? And this Luke knows him? And the other boy, too... ]

I... [ She suddenly sounds very hesitant. ] ... yes, that's the boy I spoke to. But I ... no. I don't. [ She tried. She tried to call it, and the Keyblade just wouldn't come. Like before... ] ... you knew Kairi?

Well, clearly you did know him. Memories often return with time though.

[Luke replies evenly, his voice gentle.]

Luke is a nice guy. And yes, I knew Kairi. She was a friend, though she left some time ago herself. She explained a lot about your world to me, and mentioned your name.

You ok?

[fourteen]

... I wish I could remember meeting her. Kairi... she's very special to someone important to me.

[ A pause. ] I'm okay... I guess it's just a little surprising to hear about the Keyblade from someone who's not from our world. [ ... she tries a smile. It's tiny and a little sad, but it's there. ] Thank you for answering all my questions.

She was a nice girl, and we got along well. I'm glad that I had the chance to get to know her, honestly. But it's better that she's home with her friends.

[Luke returns her smile, trying to be reassuring.]

It was just because I met Kairi. But, do you not remember her from your own world?

[fourteen]

... um ... I do, but ... we've never met. It's kind of hard to explain...

Does it have anything to do with Heartless...or Nobodys? Or things like that? I...won't pry farther if you don't want a stranger asking questions. I'm just curious.

[Really, no pressure. and the mun has no idea either so]

.... sort of. [ Concerned yet curious at the same time. ] She told you about all of that? What else did she tell you?

Nothing in great detail except for to look out for people named Vanitas and Xemnas, and an Organization. She said they were dangerous enemies.

[fourteen]

[ ... she tries to swallow a wince, and only sort of manages it. The name Vanitas means nothing to her, but the Organization...

... they are dangerous enemies. She knows better than anyone. Would Kairi have considered her a threat...? She was part of them... ]

... they are. But I don't think they're here... or I'd know.

[thefinaljedi]

Oh?

[There's a hint of curiosity in his voice, but he won't press the issue beyond that one word. Clearly she's fairly young, and worried about something.]

I hope I haven't upset you. I don't really know much more than that, and Kairi's been gone for some time now.

[fourteen]

No, it's okay. I guess I was a little surprised, that's all.

[ A blatant lie. Well -- she's not very upset. But "a little surprised" severely understates the matter. ]

The Organization... if they were here, they'd probably seek me out, and no one has. That's all.

I can edit this if it bothers you overmuch, but lying to a Jedi is very difficult to hide.

[Luke...can feel the lie there, the Force warning him something's off with her answer, but he doesn't press. It wasn't a sense he could turn off, but he didn't get any flashes of malice from the girl. She's confused, young, and obviously having a difficult time, but he can't help being a little curious about why.]

Alright. Well if you think of anything you need help with, don't hesitate to ask.
