thefinaljedi | 13th Transmission: A Year in Review. [Action/Voice]

[Early that morning, Luke rolls out of bed quietly so as not to wake Ami from her Force trance and set about his day. It was a strange thing, really, getting up in the morning and heading into a routine. The week of dreamless sleep had done him a world of good, keeping back nightmares from the draft. Things were getting better. A light breakfast follows, filling the house with smells if housemates are feeling peckish.

For the early part of the day the Jedi went through his typical morning routine. A run around the village, complete with some rather extreme Parkour has him breathing pretty heavy. He stops by the Bakery for a bit of brunch, and then makes his way to the Battle Dome for a bit of practice. Around lunchtime, he can be found at Seventh Heaven and the square before heading out to the Farmland to check on Hamal before heading back to town.

Sometime in the late afternoon, he sends out a Voice message:]

Afternoon everyone, and greetings to any New Feathers who may be listening. As always, I'd like to offer whatever assistance I can. If you need help with something, please let me know.

I've got a bit of a question for anyone who's willing to listen. Is there anything particularly special you do for the end of your first year here? I arrived one year ago, today. And to be honest it's the longest I've spent on a single planet in over a decade. I've got to admit it's a bit of an odd feeling for me.

I've also been curious about people's travel experiences. Have any of you visited other worlds? Or even other continents on your own homeworld? If you haven't, why not?

And on a final note, I regret to inform everyone that Doctor Eggman has returned home again. He was a great help with the farm, and a good friend.

Pinkie, I was wondering if you could help me with something. It involves baking, and I'm not very good at it.

[Then he returns shuts the feed.]

[Luke nods as Selphie approaches and smiles]

Hey Selphie. If it's not too much trouble, can I order an omelette with cheese? It sounds pretty good.

It's never too much trouble, Luke. One omelette with cheese, coming up in a few! Did you want anything else? We've got all sorts of stuff to try.

No, that sounds pretty filling. Water would be nice though. Thanks Selphie.

I'll be right back with your water then. Oh right!

White or whole wheat?

Wheat, I suppose.

[He grins]

Appreciate it.

We get it baked fresh every day from the Bakery. You're gonna love it with the omelette.

[She grins back at him.]

No problem!

[She's off to relay that order to the cook in the kitchen and she'll be back shortly with Luke's water.]

[He accepts the water with a grateful nod, taking a sip]

Appreciated.

I've been well. We had a lot of people from my house go off on the draft this time but we've been managing. It was hard at first but we're getting better with every day. With all the Pokemon and teenagers in our house, there's never a dull moment, that's for sure!

Glad to hear it.

[At the mention of the draft, his expression darkens just slightly]

I'm...sorry you had to see that. May I ask, who are your housemates?

[She sees that darker expression and isn't sure whether to shrug this off or move onto something else.]

Don't be. Nobody knew what we were getting ourselves into. My housemates? Silver and Freyjadour were there from the house. They're okay though. They made it out alive and I'm grateful for that.

No, but that doesn't make it right.

[He sighs and leans back, looking up at the ceiling]

Glad you guys made it through OK. I'll assume the same holds true for the Pokemon?

You're right, it doesn't make it right but that's just how they play when they're bored. They'll get what's coming to 'em eventually though. We just have to be patient which is hard sometimes but we've gotta do it.

[She hears the cook calling "Order up!" and she glances over with a calm smile.]

As I've come to learn, Pokemon are pretty resilient little guys as well as friends to their trainers. I think your omelette's ready though, so I'll be back in a few moments!

[Luke says nothing, merely nodding in ascent as Selphie scurries off.]

[Luke, if you knew Selphie better, you'd know how much of a giant klutz she is. At any rate, she'll be back as promised with a few items on the tray that she's holding tightly with both hands. She might be gazing down at her feet every now and again to ensure her footing before she places the tray on his table with an accomplished look on her face.]

One Omelette with Cheese!

[She'll place the toast down to the right of the omelette along with a small bowl of fruit salad that she brought for him on a whim before placing a small, clear bowl with ketchup in it.]

And all the fixings.

[He has no idea, but he notes the careful steps she's taking and begins to understand.]

Thanks Selphie.

[He eyes the ketchup dubiously]

What's this for?

[She'll give Luke a warm smile before she glances at the ketchup.]

It's Ketchup! It's for the Omelette if you want it. It's on the side in case you don't want it.

I'm afraid I don't know what ketchup is, Selphie. It's not something from my world.

[Really, Star Wars food is weird]

It's like the cheese in your omelette. You can use it as a topping on your food or you can add it to your food.

It's kinda hard explain so all I can really say is to try it and see if you like it or not.

[Luke cuts off a piece and dips it in the ketchup, tasting it. His expression sours and then changes to amusement]

Tomato? That's...different. Very tart on eggs.

It's gives 'em a little bit of extra tang. It's not for everyone which is why the ketchup's on the side. What did you think?

It's interesting. Are there other things people put on omelettes? Maybe it'd be good to see which works best for me.

Other than ketchup, I only know of Salsa. There's lots of things you can inside an omelette though. If you put onions and peppers in the omelette, you get what's called a Western omelette.

What's the food like where you come from Luke?

Well that sounds pretty different. I like this, it's a bit more mild.

[He's pretty boring when it comes to food, really]

Well, it's a bit different than this. We have bread and things like that, but the majority of it is stuff you'd probably never have heard of. Most of the animals we have don't exist in any other world.

But it's the same as anything else, really.

If you wanna try the salsa next time, lemme know and I'll you some of that too.

Oh yeah? We have some pretty unique animals too and a whole lotta monsters to boot. [Chocobo's, Green Dragons and Wraiths, oh my!]

But anyway, food is food right? It must be a new thing for you to try foods from other people's worlds every time. And tell me more about these creatures I haven't heard of?

Sure.

[Luke nods]

Well what sort of creatures might you want to know about? It's a big galaxy.
