thefinaljedi | 9th Transmission: Walking a mile in another Jedi's shoes [Action/Voice]

Groaning, Luke Skywalker rolled over in the warm sun of an early morning. Sitting up, he squeezed the bridge of his nose, blinking all around him. He was out by the lake, and he was still in Luceti. All he could remember was being woken from sleep by a loud banging at his window, and then blackness. Something felt off, that was sure, but he wasn't sure what. Shakily, he got to his feet and dazedly made his way over to the lake.

As he...looked into the lake, her jaw dropped, eyes widening. A female face stared back with the same shocked look, clad in New Feather garb. A familiar face, that of Grandmaster Sunrider, greeted him. To his further surprise the reflection began to speak, echoing through his mind. When it finished, things were a lot clearer. And so was her mind. Turning away from the water, Nomi Sunrider stared at the journal on the ground in front of her. Deep in the back of their mind, Luke Skywalker nodded in agreement. There wasn't much else to be done, if Luke was to be in control it would tax both of them. He knew she'd slipped him into a trance to spare him the pain of experimentation, and now she was willing to take his responsibilities until whatever the Malnosso had done could be undone.

Taking the journal, Nomi opened it up and Luke sent out a message in a distinctly...female voice. They agreed that not everyone needed to know what was going on...at least right away.

[Voice]
"Greetings residents of Luceti. This is Luke Skywalker, and...I'm having a bit of a situation. I was taken by the Malnosso, and I'm feeling a little weak. I am out by the lake, and if anyone could bring a spare suit of clothing, some water, and some pain killers I would be in your debt."

Later that afternoon, and all week, Luke/Nomi can be found around the village. Its pretty weird, even for a Jedi, so...expect lots of confusion and mostly to be speaking to Nomi. Feel free to poke at them throughout the week, just denote a day.

[ With a nod, Nomi sits down beside the mage and his pet]

It is a lovely day, not too hot as yet. And...interesting. Luminair? He's very cute. Nothing like the dragons from my home.

It's still early out s-so. [ Luminair will chirp and wag his tail a little at the compliment. ]

You have dragons back home?

Nothing like these, no. We have beasts called Krayt Dragons, they're easily the size of a community building, and they don't have the wings.

[She opens her journal and sketches a small Krayt Dragon for Helios to have a look at.]

O-Oh. We have dragons back home about that size, possibly bigger. Ra is, um, quite large. Th-then again he can change his size at will so I suppose he d-doesn't count. [ Helios will peer at the drawing curiously and Luminair will join him in doing so. ]

It looks like the loch ness monster.

Truly? These are the largest land-predators in the Galaxy.

[A pause]

Loch Ness Monster?

Largest in the Galaxy. That's amazing. I-I wish I could meet a few personally. They must be highly intelligent too.

[ Helios smiles and nods. ] She likes it when people call her Nessie. I-I suppose she's become rather enchanted with the nickname. But, ah, yes. She's a large being that resides in this loch in Scotland.

Actually, they are pretty dim, they're basically beasts.

[She says this wistfully.]

Nessie? Thats an interesting name. Is she intelligent?

[ A small frown at that. Basically beasts, hm? ]

I-I see. And yes actually. M-Most dragons are you know. Very wise and old for their kind isn't an uncommon trait. [ It's the age and wisdom that comes from living so long. ]

Hmm, yes, I suppose that would be. Though Krayt Dragons live, well, in one of the harshest enviroments in the Galaxy. They don't live long.

Ah. I'm sad to hear that. They look like such fascinating creatures. I-I would love to actually get to meet them in real life at some point.

[ Even if the wish is probably impossible not to mention improbable. ]

I would steer clear, unless you intend to fight them. They are territorial, aggressive predators that prey on humans and sand-barges alike. Yes, that means that they do occasionally consume metal.

F-Fight? Oh heavens no. I-I'd never dream of it. [ Helios blinks at that information. ]

They eat metal? Hah! That's, um, rather amazing actually.

They might want to fight you, you know? I'm sure wizards are tasty...

[She makes a comical face, laughing when its over]

[ Helios blinks and then just laughs at that. ] I-I'd imagine I might be a bit too sweet for its tastes.

[ Another small laugh as he runs a hand through his hair. ]

And why is that, dear?

[She smiles right back]

[ Helios looks a bit sheepish when he gives a small shrug. ] Ah w-well you know. I-I do love my sweets is all.

Haha, so you are a confectioner as well as a wizard?

Ah. W-Well I do tend to make my own sweets at times, yes. I just...have a bit of a sweet tooth.

[ 'A bit' is a very big understatement. ]

Oh? The more and more I get to know you, the more fascinated I get. Such a curious, peculiar man you are.

[ Helios gives a sheepish laugh at those words.] Oh, n-no. I-I'm not that, that interesting. Just, just an ordinary man. Nothing too fascinating, really.

Come now, and let an old woman flatter you.

[A cheeky smirk in response indicates that she's just messing]

[ Just a sputter Nomi, just a sputter and an embarrassed look. He takes compliments oh so well doesn't he? Not. ] Y-You don't have to d-do that! I, ah, h-haven't really warranted being given flattery at least.

You've entertained me. Thats all it takes.

[Another throaty laugh]

Cheer up, and lets go get some chocolate for you and the little fellow, alright?

[ Just still looking oh so sheepish. ] I-I suppose I'm...glad to have done so then. [ He isn't the most entertaining person though...

Helios brightens considerably at the offer and suggestion. Luminair is in agreement too as the little dragon jumps down from his placement on the fountain wall. A small frown and then a smile from Helios as he contemplates. ] Ah, well, I can't really refuse an offer like that. M-My weakness and all. I should keep more under wraps in the future.

[ Though it's really very apparent to be honest. Oh well. There are worse things aren't there? ]

Then, where would you recommend? The bakery?

[She laughs and offers an arm, indicating that he should take it. Like a gentleman.]
