Action

[Today, Luke is fairly active and out and about. The sleeping troubles caused by the possessive ghost of Nomi Sunrider were getting him down, but for the time being the ancient Jedi in his head seemed content to let him have THIS day. He wakes up quite early, and instead of his usual exercises and meditation, he can instead be found at the item shop, riffling through a myriad of junk like he does periodically, checking for objects from home. Today, he's feeling particularly lucky, and...as luck would have it he finds something. A package of cards, with strange, circular cards covered in Corellian script. Pocketing them, he makes his way around to the bakery, picking up a few pastries, and even sits down in the tea house, thumbing through the cards with a happy look on his face.

Eventually he makes his way home, stopping to pick up food from a shop. When he gets home he takes great pains to clean the entire house, with the help of R2D2 and a trio of small remote droids that he'd finally finished constructing.]

Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who's helped me cope with the troubles I've been having these past few weeks. They seem to have subsided for the moment.

Also, today is my thirtieth birthday. I'm not really sure what birthdays mean in your worlds, but in mine it is a day for family and friends to get together and have a meal. Most of my family is not here, but I would very much like it if people would stop by and share some sort of food with me. Anyone is welcome, as I'm always glad to make new acquaintances, and its considered auspicious to make friends on one's birthday. I'm happy to prepare food from my home, as well, should anyone be curious enough to try it.

If you are available, my door will be open to anyone today. Community House 5, Room 24. I'd very much like to have people visit.

What sort of games do you play with those cards?

Sabbaac and Pazaak, two games from home. The first is like Poker, the second is a form of Solitaire. Do you prefer other games to card games?

I'm not much of a 'game person' in general. I prefer to spend my time more productively. [Buzzkiiiilll!]

That is fair. Usually, I'm the same. These cards? I think I've played a game with them once.

Do you often find things like that from your world in the store?

Usually no, I think this is the second time things from my world have turned up. The first time was just my blaster and a hydrospanner.

[The blaster sounds fairly self-explanatory, but that second item has Yuan at a bit of a loss.]

A hydrospanner?

Its a tool, like a wrench. I...use it to work on machinery, and my right hand.

[He holds it up, a black glove denoting the cybernetic prosthetic]

[Yuan gets the hint about the hand, but the black glove ensures that he doesn't have a concrete idea what may lie underneath. Machinery comes in all shapes and sizes. He leans in for a closer look.]

... How does it work?

[Luke pulls it back, revealing false skin, and lifting a latch to reveal a few wires]

Its linked into my arm, wired to the nerves there. Its called cybernetics.

[Wires? Yuan wasn't expecting that. The thought of it being linked to the arm's nerves makes him cringe a bit.]

Isn't that painful?

No, actually. My world is...fairly advanced in the field of technology. Its not the MOST comfortable thing in the galaxy, but its better than not having a hand.

Hmm... That's true enough, I suppose. Are these sort of limbs common in your world?

As common as there are injuries of this type, yes. Its a simple procedure, back home. Maintaining it isn't too hard either.

[Now he's a little curious how Luke lost his hand, but he knows it's rude to ask. Especially because they've only just truly met.]

I suppose its movements are just as accurate as those of normal limbs?

For the most part, yes, though its a little stronger than a normal hand to compensate for being unable to grow stronger naturally.

Hm... That's certainly a useful invention, then.

Yes, and necessary. The galaxy isn't the kindest place to live all the time. So many uncharted and untamed worlds.

Worse than this one, you mean?

Some, yes. Imagine a world populated by five-ton carnivores and dark sorcerors, or a world designed to be a tomb for an entire evil empire, and the monsters that they created.
