Eighth Transmission: A Jedi turns 30. [Action/Voice, Forward Dated to May 24th]
Action
[Today, Luke is fairly active and out and about. The sleeping troubles caused by the possessive ghost of Nomi Sunrider were getting him down, but for the time being the ancient Jedi in his head seemed content to let him have THIS day. He wakes up quite early, and instead of his usual exercises and meditation, he can instead be found at the item shop, riffling through a myriad of junk like he does periodically, checking for objects from home. Today, he's feeling particularly lucky, and...as luck would have it he finds something. A package of cards, with strange, circular cards covered in Corellian script. Pocketing them, he makes his way around to the bakery, picking up a few pastries, and even sits down in the tea house, thumbing through the cards with a happy look on his face.
Eventually he makes his way home, stopping to pick up food from a shop. When he gets home he takes great pains to clean the entire house, with the help of R2D2 and a trio of small remote droids that he'd finally finished constructing.]
[Voice: failed filter to Leia Organa Solo]
Leia, I know this transmission won't reach you, but it wouldn't feel right to not send it. Happy Birthday. Give my warmest regards to Han and the kids.
[Voice: sometime during the early afternoon]
Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who's helped me cope with the troubles I've been having these past few weeks. They seem to have subsided for the moment.
Also, today is my thirtieth birthday. I'm not really sure what birthdays mean in your worlds, but in mine it is a day for family and friends to get together and have a meal. Most of my family is not here, but I would very much like it if people would stop by and share some sort of food with me. Anyone is welcome, as I'm always glad to make new acquaintances, and its considered auspicious to make friends on one's birthday. I'm happy to prepare food from my home, as well, should anyone be curious enough to try it.
If you are available, my door will be open to anyone today. Community House 5, Room 24. I'd very much like to have people visit.
[With that, he closes the feed, the seal of the New Republic broadcasting for a brief moment]

[Luke blinks a bit at her second statement. He'd never really thought much about his feelings for Adele, just that she was a friend and someone he could trust. Her confession didn't strike him as odd, more like stating a fact.]
I...think that sounds about right. Two strangers, united by chance. I feel lucky to have found a lost sister.
[Action]
The comfortable banter was more than enough to bump that into sibling territory.
After finding somewhere to set the box containing the cake which she will not throw out the window, she turns and hooks her arms around Luke in a friendly hug.]
You've made a lot of what happens here easier to deal with Luke. I am glad to have found a friend in you.
[Action]
He wants to keep her safe, the same as anyone else, thats his role in life, but its more than that, too]
I'm glad too. You've been quite comforting. Sometimes its nice to know that even here, there are good, decent, and capable human beings.
[He hugs her tight for a moment longer before letting her go]
I appreciate you coming today.
[Action]
[But now? With all the time she's spent in the village and around Luke; she can't help but take comfort in it as well.
After a moment she steps back and clears her throat with an awkward nod to the box.]
I. Erm.
I baked you a cake.
[Action]
[He looks at the box, and back at Adele with a grin]
You aren't a great baker, are you? Your face...
[Action]
Cake? Not...quite as well.
[Just open the box and laugh and be done with it Luke. Please. You are killing her here.]
[Action]
Oh, this looks pretty good, actually. A far cry from anything Han and Chewie have ever prepared for my birthday. They can't even manage to get a cake to be round.
[And don't get him started on Leia]
Thank you, Adele.
[Action]
[She shrugs, laughing a little herself.]
There is a tradition on my planet where one blows out a candle on one's birthday cake and makes a wish.
I left the candles at home, however.
[Action]
[He'll leave you to think about that one Dellie]
Its alright, I feel the candles would probably sink into the...is this syrup?
[Action]
[Action]
Well...
[It definitely used the wrong kind of sugar. Is that SALT?! OK, worse than Leia...]
Adele, did you use salt, or sugar?
[Action]

[Action]
Yes. Not Funny at all.
[Action]
...
It's hilarious.
[Action]
[And then, he breaks. All that stern calm? DISAPPARATED!]
[Action]
She grins, covers her mouth with a hand, and laughs right along with him.]
[Action]
W...w...woooow. Ha...haha
[Action]
...
We could have Lupin taste it, make certain it won't make anyone sick.
[Action]
[He laughs]
Sometimes, I think the people around me who attempt to cook are secretly Sith Cookmasters. The patterning on the cake is fairly consistent with Sith corruption...
[Action]
[Tentative, she edges back to the box to peer inside.]
I'd be a terrible Sith, Luke, and you know it.
[Action]
[He laughs, fondly remembering his encounter with the jovial Darth Vulkrus. Then...realizes that no, he'd never met such a Darth...but Nomi had]
Or...at least, thats what Nomi remembers.
