Eighth Transmission: A Jedi turns 30. [Action/Voice, Forward Dated to May 24th]
Action
[Today, Luke is fairly active and out and about. The sleeping troubles caused by the possessive ghost of Nomi Sunrider were getting him down, but for the time being the ancient Jedi in his head seemed content to let him have THIS day. He wakes up quite early, and instead of his usual exercises and meditation, he can instead be found at the item shop, riffling through a myriad of junk like he does periodically, checking for objects from home. Today, he's feeling particularly lucky, and...as luck would have it he finds something. A package of cards, with strange, circular cards covered in Corellian script. Pocketing them, he makes his way around to the bakery, picking up a few pastries, and even sits down in the tea house, thumbing through the cards with a happy look on his face.
Eventually he makes his way home, stopping to pick up food from a shop. When he gets home he takes great pains to clean the entire house, with the help of R2D2 and a trio of small remote droids that he'd finally finished constructing.]
[Voice: failed filter to Leia Organa Solo]
Leia, I know this transmission won't reach you, but it wouldn't feel right to not send it. Happy Birthday. Give my warmest regards to Han and the kids.
[Voice: sometime during the early afternoon]
Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who's helped me cope with the troubles I've been having these past few weeks. They seem to have subsided for the moment.
Also, today is my thirtieth birthday. I'm not really sure what birthdays mean in your worlds, but in mine it is a day for family and friends to get together and have a meal. Most of my family is not here, but I would very much like it if people would stop by and share some sort of food with me. Anyone is welcome, as I'm always glad to make new acquaintances, and its considered auspicious to make friends on one's birthday. I'm happy to prepare food from my home, as well, should anyone be curious enough to try it.
If you are available, my door will be open to anyone today. Community House 5, Room 24. I'd very much like to have people visit.
[With that, he closes the feed, the seal of the New Republic broadcasting for a brief moment]

Thank you, Ami. I didn't want to trouble anyone too much, since I really do prefer simple things. If you'd like to come by, I've prepared food. I don't really enjoy big parties when I can spend time with people on a more personal level.
[Voice]
I'd like that, very much. Shall I bring anything? [Aside from a gift, because she'll come up with something now that she knows.]
[Voice]
[He smiles happily, grateful that someone understands his desire for enjoying things in simplicity]

[Voice]
[Luke laughs]
I look forward to seeing you soon then.

[Ami says a polite farewell and ends the conversation, before heading out for an afternoon of shopping. Usagi would be better at it, but Ami wants to choose this on her own. It seems more meaningful that way.
Luke... a warrior, bright, confident and capable... what would be right for him? In the end, she drifts through a few of the shops, glancing at the wares without much purpose. No, that one was a bit too personal. That one wasn't quite appropriate for a birthday; too utilitarian.
In the end, by the time she's at Luke's house and knocking at the door, she's holding a neatly-wrapped package.]
[Action]
Good evening, Ami. Please, come in.
[Action]
I brought this. [She holds out the package for Luke.] Happy Birthday. I hope that you like it.
[Action]
[He pauses, thinking better of asking her the question he'd asked most of the other people that day. Ami doesn't seem the type to enjoy pranking her friends...]
Should I open it now? Or wait?
[Action]
[Action]
[Luke undoes the wrapping carefully, not wanting to tear her hard work. Opening the box, he finds...]
[Action]
I hope you like them. I hope you haven't read them already.
[Action]
[Luke grins, setting the books down and pulling her in for a hug. He's aware of her discomfort with contact, a habit he'd like to help her deal with, but he's also just grateful]
[Action]
You're very welcome. After all, a birthday should have special presents.
[Action]
Thank you. Would you like to try some tea from my homeworld? The Malnosso left some in the shop, it seems. Its called sand-jasmine.
[Action]
I'd like that, very much. Would you like me to serve it for us?
[Action]
[He points at a chair, laughing. Not this time Ami-chan]
[Action]
[But despite her protests, Ami ends up led to the chair, and takes her seat.]
[Action]
Try these, its a kind of bread from my homeworld. We make it from some of the few kinds of roots that grow there.
[Action]
You were able to find it here? Or did you make it?
