thefinaljedi | 6th Transmission, Stopping to smell the Kibo...[Video/Action]

[Luke Skywalker has had an eventful few weeks, what with Anakin arriving, and breaking the news to his father about his rather dark future, not to mention the New Feather cycle. He'd patrolled the woods for newcomers, and spent many afternoons introducing himself to and attempting to help New Feathers get adjusted to life in Luceti. Not to mention the recent the blank...day from the last weekend.

That was beginning to be a common theme, blank days in his memory, and it was starting to be more than mildly disconcerting. Luke was genuinely starting to get angry at having his mind wiped by the Malnosso. To alleviate some of this, Luke decided that today would probably be an excellent day for exercise, and perhaps finding someone to train with. He'd talked to some people in the past about working on Jedi philosophy, martial training, and even meditative practice but due to the New Feather cycle, Anakin, and the confusion regarding the attack on the Battle Dome things had just not worked out.

He sends out a message to the village in Video form during the morning, before stepping outside to begin his own practice]

Good morning Luceti. I trust this morning finds you all well. I have a bit of a request. I would like to find someone to help me train today. Its been a while since I've had anyone to spar with, and equally as long since I've had an exercise partner. If anyone is interested, please contact me. I will be around Community House Five, so if you'd prefer, please stop by.

Moreover, if anyone is interested, I feel like today is a fine day for a hike and would love company.

[After his morning, he heads about his business in the village, stopping by the shops to pick up a few odds and ends like nutrient bars, a travelling pack, and some canteens.

Following this, he begins to make preparations for a rather lengthy hike, planning on heading out into the woods and just walking until he feels like its time to turn around. Why? Because he knows that he needs to relax and take time to smell the Kibo. Even if there aren't any Kibo flowers here. All the little things are starting to build up, and he can ill afford a tantrum of his own, having just prevented Anakin's explosion the previous week.

Its a fine spring day, and he does hope that someone will join him on his walk]

[Yuriko turns around to greet Luke as he lands, looking skeptical.] I hope that's not what you consider hiding your powers.

Unlike you, the vast majority of Luceti seems to know that I'm a Jedi. In many worlds, I'm a fictional character. It'd be hard to hide it.

What do you mean "fictional character"?

Apparently, in other worlds I exist. As a character in books and movies.

[That idea is kind of mind blowing. No doubt it'll weigh on Yuriko's mind later.]

No one here seems to have recognised me. [But then, who'd write a book about Yuriko?] We should get started.

We should. Why don't you follow me. I often go into the forest to practice meditation.

[He'll start off towards the edge of the woods]

[Yuriko nods and follows Luke. She's wandered through the forest a little, it's certainly peaceful enough there.]

[He'd had a small clearing prepared for such things, with mats laid out under a small tarp to shut out rain]

Alright, please, sit, make yourself comfortable.

[Yuriko looks apprehensive, but she sits cross-legged on one of the mats anyway. Still, she's finding it difficult to let her guard down.]

[Luke sits across from Yuriko, offering a small, encouraging smile]

Well, shall we begin? First, I'd like you to try and clear your mind. Think of something that makes you happy, or makes you calm.

[Yuriko closes her eyes and tries to think happy thoughts. There's not a lot that fits into that category, however. Instead, she just tries to think of nothing at all, to brush all thoughts and emotions aside. Yuriko is fairly good at that, although Luke may notice she still feels quite tense.]

That is a good start. Center yourself. And feel your power. When you can grasp it, try and envision it as a piece of paper. One side with writing, another blank. Try and invert that image in your mind, presenting the blank to others.

[He knows it sounds weird, but this is how he does it...]

[Yuriko tries hard to concentrate on that, but it isn't easy. Not when she's spent years being taught the exact opposite.]

I... I don't understand.

Picture your power. Think of it like a painting. Think of your accomplishments. Those are the images on the painting.

Can you do that? Hold that image in your mind.

[Yuriko tries to envision this, seeing in her head a canvas being painted. However, the images on it are only of death, destruction and suffering. It bothers her, but she can't remember achieving much more and she's trying hard not to break her concentration.]

[Luke can feel that image and her discomfort as well, but doesn't comment. She seems like a nice enough person, but really confused, and definitely a soldier of some sort]

Now, hold that image in your mind. And flip it inside out.

[Yuriko tries her best to change the picture in her mind to a blank canvas, forcing away all the images and memories flowing through her mind. If she can get Luke to see only nothingness inside her, then it's a start, right?]

[Luke actually does feel the image start to waver and shift, some of the images disappearing]

Its starting, Yuriko. You're doing fine, just keep concentrating.

[Yuriko tries harder, determined to keep Luke out of her mind, but also in a way trying to hide the images from herself. She feels more of her memories being cleared away to some corner of her mind, and with it some of her power too. But there's only so much of this she can take seeing herself.]

[Luke can feel the images begin to waver and fade, and he figures he'll offer a bit of encouragement]

Its starting to work, Yuriko. Most excellent.

[Despite the encouragement, Yuriko is finding this a little uncomfortable now and opens her eyes suddenly.]

Agh! I don't want to do this anymore.

Yuriko, calm down. You wanted me to help you right?

[His expression darkens, he hadn't expected this volatile a reaction]

[She sighs, a little frustrated.]

I did. But it's not working.

Yes, it is. Its not instantaneous, it takes time. Please, stick with it. I'm willing to help you as often as you need.

... I'll try. [Yuriko gets up from where she was sitting.] But I don't like you seeing into my mind. I want to practice on my own for a while.
