[Luke leaves her to her thoughts, and he's gone for five minutes or so. When he returns, he's got a tray with steaming mugs of tea, a dark oolong he's fond of. There are also a few cookies, and other simple snacks.]

Here you are. It's a bit bitter, but it'll be good for you.

[Bitter she doesn't mind. Ginia takes the cup and simply holds it for a bit, enjoying the warmth of the cup before taking a careful sip. She doesn't have much of an appetite - though she can't remember the last time she ate either. She alternates between sipping tea and nibbling at a cookie.]

-Anything happen in the village?-

[Luke picks up his own cup and shakes his head.]

Nothing, really. It's been quiet for the last few weeks.

[A relief and also oddly disappointing to hear. She considers the dates and time period she was gone.]

-No shift at all in March?

That I know of? No. Everything was quiet. That's happening more and more frequently, these days.

[Go figure. Kidnapped and tortured during the quietest month. At least everyone else had a good time.]

-Think it's a sign things are changing or are we well-overdue for a shift?

[Luke snorts, amused at the very thought.]

Oh, we're definitely overdue.

[A matter of time then. When will it be? Sometime soon, later in the month? Always waiting, never knowing, constantly preparing for the worst. It's frustrating and tiring.

Ginia sips her tea and munches on a cookie, falling back into sullen silence for several minutes. Until:]

-How's your family doing?-

[Luke sips his own tea, shrugging.]

They're fine. Better than, really. Obi-Wan arrived while you were gone. Or...re-arrived, rather.

[It takes a moment for her to process that. Obi-Wan, returned.]

-Does he remember being here?

He does, yes.

[Simple answer for a simple question.]

[Lucky him. There's some bitterness that seems through into Ginia's thoughts as she sips her tea. It's not her fault she can't remember, but it's still no less frustrating. Too many gaps, too many unknowns, it makes her skin crawl.

Her thoughts settle slightly as she focuses again.]

-Sure I can't leave? My apartment isn't far.

[He frowns, but nods after a moment.]

I'll walk you. Just to be certain.

[Ginia gets up quickly, regretting it instantly as her head feels light-headed. She wavers slightly and grabs the bed to steady herself.]

-...Flame building, floor seven.

No problem.

[Luke reaches out to steady her, offering a shoulder for support.]

But I think, given that reaction, you should at least take a nap in the back room here. That'd be my medical advice, but I won't force you to.

[She accepts the support.]

-I can nap in my apartment.-

[If napping was even possible. She couldn't remember the last time she slept and she felt tired, but her mind was still too awake. Silence was deafening when all you could hear were the thoughts in your own mind.]

Then let's get you home.

[And off they go?]

[And off they go. Tired and barefoot, Ginia watches her step as she leans on Luke, carefully avoiding twigs and sharp rocks. She looks around as they walk, still half expecting everything to shift on her at any second and find herself back in her cell.

But once they reach Flame Building, she settles. There's the bright green freight elevator the building has. She leans on the wall as the elevator begins moving toward the seventh floor.]

-....Thanks.-

Oh course.

[He gives her shoulder a reassuring squeeze.]

Just doing my job.

[So he is. Ginia doesn't respond, sinking back into sullen silence. The elevator arrives at her floor and she heads out.

Unsurprisingly, the door is locked. She knocks on it, frowning as there's only silence beyond the door.]

-Anything you can do to break the lock? I don't hear my dog inside.

I can. Just a moment.

[Luke sets his hand on the door, shuts his eyes, and concentrates. A little manipulation of the device's inner workings later, and it clicks open.]

[Ginia opens the door and whistles for Laika, waiting for the sound of feet on carpet barreling to the door.

Nothing.

Ginia steps into the apartment and looks around. Her dining-work table is overturned, one chair broken, books and papers scattered across the floor. Broken glass lays on the carpet near the sliding glass door, though the door has long since repaired itself. The walls are also intact, thin spider cracks showing any evidence of damage.

But the apartment is silent. Ginia whistles again, stops and listens. She whistles a third time. Still silence. And so Ginia reaches a conclusion.]

I believe someone has taken my dog.

[Luke frowns and enters, laying his hand on a wall and feeling out with the Force. Psychometry isn't a skill he's used a lot in Luceti...but he's good enough with it to get an impression.]

There's no sense of struggle aside from your own. You might want to ask friends of yours if they've seen your dog. One of them probably took it in during your absence.

[That was her first guess - why would the Malnosso take a dog? - but the confirmation from Luke is nice.]

-I can think of a few people who might have her. And if not, then the murdering.-
