Appointments
This thread is for IC Appointments. If you need to reach Luke for anything, feel free to leave a message here.
Timestamps, such as "Date/Time/Type of Action" would be great!

Told you. Strongest drink in the Galaxy.
[He finishes his drink with a quick gulp]
So I hear this last shift was a real mess. Amnesia, right?
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
Right. Itachi and I were unaffected, but the rest of the town...
... be glad you didn't run into Moro out there. She was quite violent during the shift.
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
Its best to drink water between each go of this stuff. It does things to human metabolisms.
And I heard about Moro's little attack. Still haven't met her, but we were up in the mountains.
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
[He accepts the water. No baseline human metabolism here... not with the amount of alcohol an One Piece pirate can drink, and hey, not technically human - he's modified. But not complaining.
And then a wry smile and a shake of the head.]
It got out, did it?
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
[He's not exaggerating...and his nose wrinkles in disgust.]
And yea, I saw the records in the clinic. Adele and a few others mentioned it offhand as well. Is the guy alright?
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
Fascinating.
[Really, it is. Makes him wonder what are the compounds that are doing that.]
He's on the mend. And having a pair of brothers fussing over every move. But that's nakama for you.
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
[Cleverly done...Law]
Thats good to hear, but Nakama? That's a term I'm unfamiliar with.
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
Term most people are unfamiliar with. [And he's regretful about that.] Concept most people don't understand. In my world, we usually don't describe it among my people - it's not something we really need to. It's just known.
And I guess I should actually explain it.
It refers to a type of relationship that develops between a group of people. An extremely strong type of bond - one that goes beyond friendship, family, or blood.
[There's more to it, much more to it... and he pauses for a sip of water.]
See... nakama is so hard to understand because of the strength of those bonds. They survive betrayal, and heartbreak, and pretty much everything else that would rip a relationship to shreds. There's still acceptance and yes, even love at the end of the day. You are theirs and they are yours.
[Another sip. And Law studies the water.]
Or maybe what's so inexplicable is that nakama mainly forms between pirates. We aren't the sorts you'd think would have this kind of thing, would you?
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
This sort of bond was something he was familiar with, though the term itself was not. A connection forged though battle and strife, absolute trust and the knowledge that no matter what they'd always have your back. It was common among members of the Rebel Alliance, particularly the officers and spies. Not to mention squadrons of pilots like the Rogues and Wraiths. Even Jedi, in a sense, had such a bond. And pirates, gangsters, and other groups too.]
I'd believe it, actually. I've got my own 'nakama' back home. People I trust with my life and feel I could put the safety of the entire galaxy on. Its not uncommon for pirates and gangsters to feel the same way at home. Nal Hutta is filled with 'families' of pirates and groups that take a similar stance among members.
Though the explanation is appreciated. Its a good, short way to put that connection into a single word.
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
I'm glad you do. I think more people in Luceti could use people in their lives like that, though, honestly, nakama isn't for everyone. And here, I can see why people would be afraid of it.
[Who hasn't experienced Luceti's brand of loss?]
But the conditions are right for it. Sure this isn't the traditional sort of ship or station either of us is used to, but we are all stuck together none the less. We can't escape each other, just like on any pirate crew, for better or worse, even though we have more room to spread out. So I can see nakamaship forming. Messily. We have such a hodgepodge of different values here, such differing senses of right and wrong and understanding.
[It's musing in general. He's not talking about the subject they both know they will talk about and he's thinking of other people at the moment. But the conversation is flowing in that direction as it will. As Law is letting it do so organically.]
Haa, very messily. It doesn't work without the mess, maybe. Perhaps that's a required factor for the forge.
[Oct 2/Action/Evening]
Ami...is a little different I think.
[Luke laughs softly]
I think its certainly possible though, for something like that to form.
