[He accepts it, setting it on the table inside the door and pulling her in.]

How've you been? What's been going on around the village?

Another shift, recently; and some confusion at the library. [A tactful way to describe the prank.]

Yeah.

[He grimaces and heads over to the couch.]

Raine told me about the library. I think. Or rather, the school.

[In Ami's opinion? Enough happens without someone interfering with something like the library, of all things. She's not finding the joke particularly funny, although she knows part of that is just her own attitude.

So she'll join Luke on the couch.]

Tell me about the mission.

[Luke shakes his head and leans back, an arm reaching over to pull her into a hug.]

Mmm, not much to tell, really. They had me repairing some of their ships again. Just routine things, adjustments and calibrations.

[She returns the embrace, but typically of her, she's focused on the serious topic now.]

Routine, or preparation?

Routine. Same thing I've been doing for the last few missions.

[He shakes his head and gives her a relaxed, confident smile.]

Mostly it's repairing damage from microasteroids. I don't think there's anything going on with the space-fleet. But you mentioned a shift? What's going on?

Nothing exact. It's more like... it went haywire and earlier shifts are repeating again. [It's far from the first time that's happened, too.] And now, it's as if a shift is manipulating time, almost.

That one I remember. But...time? What do you mean?

It's hard to explain. [She's just going to default to an example.] If you take a piece of fruit, it might rot in your hand suddenly - or become a seed again.

Oh, so...things regressing in time? That is strange. Has it been going on long?

[geniustheveil]

Or jumping forward. [If she'd ever met Pluto, she wouldn't even know what the soldier of Time would make of this.]

It's been happening just for a little while.

Well...hopefully it's short lived.

Anything happening around your house?

Too many things; but all of them have been small, like that. So I guess it's alright for now. Only... if a shift really is manipulating time, the consequences could be worse before it's finished.

Well, at least it's small for now. Best to count our blessings.

[Well, yes, but she'd also like to be prepared. Granted, she'd also like to enjoy her reunion with Luke.]

I won't worry about it right now.

Exactly.

[He grins and leans more against her. Preparedness only goes so far, and he'd rather just relax. The next topic is less loaded for him.]

I heard about the library mess, too. Did you talk to that...owl at all?

[It's not exactly a loaded topic, but it's a heated one for Ami.]

The books should have been left there for everyone from the start. Of course people wanted to make sure everyone could read them. [Though she isn't quite aware of how it ended...]

[He frowns, nodding slowly. He has heard, at least.]

It doesn't justify the violence, though.

[Ami looks somewhat alarmed.] Violence? [Yeah, that would be the part she didn't know about.] What do you mean?

Apparently there was a fight at the school involving Loki and the owl.

A fight? Were they hurt? [And please tell her it at least didn't involve anyone else.]

I have no idea. I just know that classes were moved out of the school because of it.

I see. I haven't heard about injuries at the clinic, but they could have gone to the other clinic, too.
