thefinaljedi | 13th Transmission: A Year in Review. [Action/Voice]

[Early that morning, Luke rolls out of bed quietly so as not to wake Ami from her Force trance and set about his day. It was a strange thing, really, getting up in the morning and heading into a routine. The week of dreamless sleep had done him a world of good, keeping back nightmares from the draft. Things were getting better. A light breakfast follows, filling the house with smells if housemates are feeling peckish.

For the early part of the day the Jedi went through his typical morning routine. A run around the village, complete with some rather extreme Parkour has him breathing pretty heavy. He stops by the Bakery for a bit of brunch, and then makes his way to the Battle Dome for a bit of practice. Around lunchtime, he can be found at Seventh Heaven and the square before heading out to the Farmland to check on Hamal before heading back to town.

Sometime in the late afternoon, he sends out a Voice message:]

Afternoon everyone, and greetings to any New Feathers who may be listening. As always, I'd like to offer whatever assistance I can. If you need help with something, please let me know.

I've got a bit of a question for anyone who's willing to listen. Is there anything particularly special you do for the end of your first year here? I arrived one year ago, today. And to be honest it's the longest I've spent on a single planet in over a decade. I've got to admit it's a bit of an odd feeling for me.

I've also been curious about people's travel experiences. Have any of you visited other worlds? Or even other continents on your own homeworld? If you haven't, why not?

And on a final note, I regret to inform everyone that Doctor Eggman has returned home again. He was a great help with the farm, and a good friend.

Syre, I wanted to thank you for the notes you left a few weeks ago, and I've got something for you as a token of my appreciation. I can bring it by your apartment, or we can meet somewhere.

Pinkie, I was wondering if you could help me with something. It involves baking, and I'm not very good at it.

[Then he returns shuts the feed.]

[At least the wash of awe and bright pinpoints of joy masks her earlier frustration quite well, even if it didn't entirely cover the dull ache in her feet or growing knot of bitterness in the back of her mind. She is determined to do well, and really should get back to drilling. But.

I would not have thought that of myself. I'm glad, believe me I am glad to hear it I'm just a little...in awe.

Nothing special. I've just been doing a sort of mental review. I don't really make plans for this sort of thing often, so I've just been putting stuff back in order and making preparations for winter. I've been up at the farm working for a while. Hamal's shelter is finished, so he'll be alright when then snow shows up, so I'm on my way back to town.

Heh, why don't you try stormtroopers?

That's not a bad idea. I'm always up for a challenge.

Awe? You've never seemed particularly awestruck in the past.

[Luke walks over and hops up onto a nearby stool, regarding her. She felt the same, that was for sure, but there was something strange about the situation. A sensation of pain and ache from his...young...friend had him examining her, starting from the top down.]

Ah. Busy as always. At least the farm's holding up and Hamal-chan's fine, right? Let's hope we don't get another blizzard this year...

[A sigh. Enough rambling, and he was straying from the topic.]

I wasn't planning on doing much for mine. Just get myself a glass of bourbon, no ice, and chill on a roof somewhere. Maybe not even a roof, but just a bar.

...it's a commemoration thing, really. Like how people drink champagne at the new year.

I'm not a teen when you know me though. We're a little...[Her shoulders slump a bit.] Childish. At times. And my father and I watch the trilogy at least once a month.

[So it is ever fresh in her mind, even if she's moved to Paris they huddle up in her flat and watch it there.

The ache pricks up a bit along her spine and shoulders- muscle gone sore. It's a tighter, hotter ache in her core, knees, and ankles, though the strongest source of the pain lay in her feet and toes. Drilling her feet bloody is an old habit. A poor one, but. An old one.]

There are several routes that connect the different cities in a region, which is the main highway for trainers. There are Pokemon Centers and PokeMarts in each city which provide supplies and a place to rest and heal Pokemon. There is usually a smattering of trainers on each route, so even if something did happen, a trainer could easily find help.

Not to mention trainers are not allowed to go out into the wild without at least one Pokemon. They serve as protection as well.

[Yeah, Lance's world is probably a utopia compared to Luke's.]

You'd mentioned that before. You were the one who convinced me to watch the movies in the first place.

[But he stops, and his brow furrows with concern as his examination reaches her lower body. The ragged soreness radiating from her feet gives him immediate pause. What could have happened?]

Adele, what happened to your feet? I can feel the ache there. Did something attack you?

It sounds truly odd. No crime or dangerous people to speak of either?

[Because he knows for sure that there are plenty of people, anywhere, who're willing to take from others and hurt them in the process.]

Out of curiosity, you've seen those films, haven't you?

Yea, hoping to avoid that.

[He shrugs]

That sounds nice. Dinner, a little wine. That sort of thing feels appropriate.

[At that question Lance puts his hands in his pockets and heaves a sigh.]

Not exactly. We do have some crime, most notably through organizations such as Team Rocket. They are the types to steal, abuse, and use Pokemon to their own ends. Mostly for world domination. Giovanni... is actually the former leader of Team Rocket.

I think everyone has where I'm from. They're pretty famous.

I did? That must have been odd-

[Right. Jedi's could sense things through the Force but she didn't expect him to notice. It wasn't that bad, not really. Adele lifts a shoulder, catches herself at it, and locks her posture back in place.]

Nothing attacked me. It just comes from working hard for a long while. That's all. It's normal.

[Luke nods gravely in understanding]

I figured he was something like that. The suits, and his attitude...it made me think of criminal elements in my world. I suppose it's for the best I didn't press to hard.

Every world has it's underside though. It's just human nature.

Huh, I was wondering about that. Lots of people seem familiar with parts of my past. I've seen them myself.

I can program in some Imperial troops, but I should warn you. They're a lot more accurate than in the films.

Yeah? That's got to be a bit crazy. I can't imagine watching my life on screen like that.

I can imagine. I don't mind them being accurate. Prefer it.

[Luke drops down to one knee to examine her feet. But the posture shift he notes too, making a mental note to address that later. That's not as pressing as the obvious pain in her feet.]

No, that's not normal at all. Pain is the body's way of telling you to take a breather.

Take off your shoes. I want to have a look, see if there's a way I can take the edge off the pain.

It's not the worst thing ever, and it helped me get a better idea of what people know.

[He steps over to the console and taps out a few commands]

There, your regular guys will be interspersed with droids and imperial troops. Aim for the neck joints.

Why not make it a date?

[Because, obviously, Luke was most likely still worried about Ami.]

That was part of the thought. Something quiet.

I see. You're a very perceptive man.

[Yeah he has no idea. But Lance again sighs and nods.]

That's true, but I feel in comparison to some other worlds, we have been rather fortunate.

Quiet is good.

...unless you had something else on your mind. Then the quiet lets you think too hard.

The Force guides my senses, but I appreciate it.

[Luke offers an apologetic look]

You do seem fortunate, but that's nothing to feel bad about. Your world's peace is something we all strive for. It's nice to see it, honestly.
