Consider that was at least seven years in my past, by someone I have considered to be my brother for at least a decade, and that there's very little I can actually do about it, Leia.

Things have been a little busy lately. Han, Leia, and my father's former apprentice have all arrived in the village and catching them up to speed has been an endeavor.

So I saw, happy that ya got some more of ya family 'bout. Good luck with that chaos.

I was hopin' ya might be able to lend a hand to a friend of mine. Wanda Maximoff, also goes by Scarlet Witch, she owns HQ. She be a powerful mutant, chaos magic, makes the 'mpossible possible.

She been rather traumatized from the draft 'nd I managed to get through to her that she might be able to turn her powers to helpin' others, not just hurtin' 'nd killin' people. Thing is, I got no idea how to even approach helpin' her with that, was hopin' ya might have some thoughts that might help the fille out.

[Having met Billy, Luke is somewhat familiar with Wanda's skillset, but still...that's a hefty request.]

Well, I suppose the first step is to give her a task that she can do with her powers that is helpful. Something small, a step in that direction, and build from there. Maybe, for example, repairing something?

Just don't scratch that wall too much, hein? It be better it don't come down. Wanda was... homicidal 'fore, not that she didn't have a good reason. I be pretty sure they put some safe guards into her head too, to stop 'nyone pokin' 'round too much.

She been made to believe she only capable of hurtin' others, want to show her a way that she might be 'ble to heal or at least act defensively.

She 'greed to it, so wouldn't mind if ya do. Set ya up on a date. [A chuckle followed that through the journal.]

[What was she expecting from Luke? They are hardly a normal family, Luceti's time differences aside. Besides, he's a Jedi. And from her father's stories, Jedi tended to be rather dispassionate if they were any good.

She shakes her head before hastily giving him a hug.]

I'm not even sure how I should react. Can we just call this training session as overvsnd try again tomorrow? I don't think I'll be any good today.

I'm heading out on a mission tomorrow. I already told Anakin but since he's been out on the farm for weeks...

Also, the date of his birth was celebrated yesterday. Just thought someone should know besides me and probably Padmé.

Today - this morning - Action

[Anakin could tell Luke was in the workshop before he was even in sight of the building. But Anakin needed to go into it to work on more droids, and if he didn’t go in there and endure the presence of his son, it was Hamal for company with nothing else to do.

Encounter his son, or only his thoughts to keep him occupied.

He might have stayed by Hamal’s side for five minutes to realize this wasn’t tenable.

So he finally pushed through that door.

He paused just inside, uncertainly dictating his inaction. Eventually he regained direction and headed over to the area where the droids that needed work were resting.]

"Luke." [And he even managed to acknowledge Luke’s presence.]


[OOC: I know this isn't truly Anakin seeking out Luke for a talk, but it's a vast improvement over avoiding Luke completely. I hope it works.]

Hmmm. [She makes a bit of a production before replying, although they both already knew her answer.]

You might want to save that for when he threatens Anakin.

Today - this evening - Action!

[It was a start. Luke had known Anakin was out there, but in keeping with his policy of not pushing, he'd just let his father stay out there if he wanted to. A greeting wasn't what he expected, but he smiled and returned it with a faint nod.]

Hello, Anakin.

[He starts to go through some tools, looking for things while he tries to think of something to say that isn't pushing. But eventually, realizing that he just shouldn't wait for Anakin entirely, he speaks up again.]

How are the droids coming along?

He won't, he knows better.

[No, he doesn't...]

[The itch to just leave was strong, and there were seconds where Anakin almost gave in and walked away. He wasn’t used to this kind of emotion. Something like embarrassment or shame, regret not yet his own – he hadn’t done anything, it was all in the future – and yet he still felt responsible for it all.

And in the past, he could always hide behind the assurance others were wrong about him, he was a good person, he would prove it.

Well, he wasn’t right after all, there was too much proof to the contrary, no use pretending.

Only he didn’t know how to own and process this new identity, not without hurting anyone. And not knowing just left everything feeling awkward, him, the space between him and Luke (and everyone else for that matter), life now in general.

Interacting now simply wasn’t easy.]

They’re fine. Actually. I just wanted to upgrade them like the others. I can put them back out if you preferred I didn’t upgrade them.

[At least, this was a topic Anakin could talk about.]

[Luke would argue Anakin was a good person with anyone in any universe until he was blue in the face. It was a subject he felt extremely strongly about, after all. And that would include Anakin himself. But for a moment at least, he's spared having to by the simple response he needs to that statement.]

No, actually I'd be glad you did. It's been a big help, you know. You taking over the repairs, that is. And they've been a lot more efficient. It's let me free up time to take care of more of the chores that've been falling behind since the draft.

[He even manages to give Anakin a small, completely genuine smile. He really doesn't see the need for awkwardness...but he's trying to respect his father's space and boundaries.]
