I haven't worked with enchantments terribly often, but it's an interesting challenge to consider. I did the enchantments on my daggers, but those are much simpler than the sort of thing you're speaking of.

[He nods.]

I should like that. When would be convenient?

It could be worth a shot, if nothing else all we've lost is time. Which, as you say, we have plenty of.

[Luke's avoiding missions for the time being, for a number of reasons]

Anytime after noon would be fine. I do a shift at the clinic as a healer until 11, and then spend an hour training my friend to use her own lightsaber. After that? I'm free.

I'll work through the maths and see what presents itself.

[Loki thinks for a moment.]

Do you wish for this to be daily?

[He's fine with that, just needs to clarify.]

That's up to you. It isn't a quick thing, but I think meeting once or twice a week would be more than sufficient. Though more, or less, depending on your wishes.

Twice a week would do nicely. Tuesday and Thursday after lunch, perhaps?

That works for me. I'll see you then.

[He offers Loki a genuine smile]

May the Force be with you, Loki.

[Loki bows.]

Indeed.

[He turns away, then pauses, considering this particular way to part. The words are interesting, but more so is the way in which Luke says them, and in light of their conversation. Finally, he shoots a smile over his shoulder, something genuine and with an odd shade of shyness to it.]

And with you.

[Then he is gone.]

[Law makes his silent way through the dark towards House 46. He had called ahead about a certain drink.

He was more than ready for it.

Not quite looking forward to where the conversation was inevitably going to lead, but perspective was needed and he only got one side of the story. Quite a bit of perspective, perhaps. He was unwilling to buy it had just been a broken promise and a secret brushed that had brought it all down. Just the catalyst. No, there were issues swimming beneath, like glassfish in inky water, and difficult to perceive.

But perhaps this conversation was inevitable. The rumblings were there at the beach. And he suddenly wished Mister Ginko was around. The man had been the closest thing Luceti had had to a therapist.

Not his role. He was just a doctor and a pirate. And he was there to listen first.]

[When Law had called ahead, Luke had been more than a little surprised. It'd been months since they'd promised themselves that drink, but it had seemed like something else was on the young man's mind. Law was a good doctor, and he'd been a good friend to everyone Luke knew, but he was a quiet and un-intrusive man.

Which meant that something was going on. And he had a feeling what it was.

The Jedi was sitting by the door on a deck chair, a bottle of glowing pink liquor resting with two glasses on a table. A second chair was already pulled out for the pirate doctor. He greeted Law with a crisp salute.]

Hello Law. I trust you've been well?

Well enough, but it's been a hell of a last few weeks.

[A wry shrug... and is that liquid glowing?]

There have been times I've just wanted to hole up in my home with the cats and my partner.

[Luke waves to a chair and nods. And yes, it is glowing a neon pink]

I heard about the Shift, and about Loki. Sorry I wasn't here to help. Ami and I needed the break.

[Luke lets out an amused huff and a half smile]

[He waves it off as he sits.]

Not a thing you should apologize for. What happened with Loki was... something I doubt could have been prevented. [Loki and Moro. Two gods and two people close to him in his life.] As for the Shift, I guess the expression is 'shit happens'.

[Beyond anyone's control in other words.]

Yea, I understand that.

[Luke chuckles, the expression quite true]

Still, we both felt like we should've been here to back you up. But whats done is done, no point dwelling on it.

[He lifts the glowing drink]

But this seems appropriate.

[She'd written notes to those that didn't live close, talked it over with Law and Saori- but she has a few people yet to be informed of what she's packed and ready to leave for come morning. Luke she decides to tell in person. Besides- they haven't really spoken since he returned. That was mostly on her, though. Avoiding fallout from that particular shift.

She shakes her head and knocks on the front door of house 46, a basket full of apple danish and fritters braced on her hip.]

[Luke opens the door with a smile, beckoning Adele inside]

Hey. Its been a while, come in.

It has.

[She offers a tired smile and steps inside, heading for the kitchen to set the basket on one of the counters.]

Did you and Ami enjoy yourselves?

We did. The fresh air was good, for both of us.

[Luke follows her and gently pats her on the back, giving her a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder]

You alright? You don't look like you've been sleeping well.

Perhaps Ben and I ought to do the same some time next month. I could use the quiet.

[To a degree. She lifts a shoulder and turns to lean against the counter, arms crossed.]

I have not been. Between Loki, the last shift, Clint- Apep's influence has been kicking up again. It makes it difficult to rest well. I feel what I need is time away from the village.

You should. Did you finally talk to the man?

[He smiles warmly at the thought before addressing the rest of it.]

I'm sorry to hear that. I feel like...I should have been here to help. I can't believe that man attacked Loki. [Despite having heard from Coulson's own mouth what had happened. Guess who hasn't met Hawkeye?]

...I did. We've...we are. I don't know how to phrase it. I'm too old to have a boyfriend and we aren't sleeping together so I cannot say that we are lovers. But we are together, now.

[It made her smile a little to think of that one bright spot of joy and serenity she had, now. Of course the rest...She shakes her head. Pats Luke's hand with a faint sigh.]

You cannot be ever present in the village, Luke. And you deserved your time away with Ami.

Clint is...he has a lot of loathing for Loki. I can understand why- he made it plain when he arrived- remind me to thank Artoo for not shocking him, then. He was tempted. I think. As much as a droid might be tempted.

I'm glad. I've been waiting since Grandmaster Sunrider told him to tell you how he felt.

[He nodded, patting her back.]

I can't, but that doesn't mean Ami and I shouldn't have guessed that a Shift was due.

[Luke looks out into the living room at Artoo]

And you can tempt him. Artoo has a spiteful personality.

...Nomi Sunrider spoke to him of this? Really? And he didn't...

[Damn blink fool indeed. Honestly Ben. She snorts a laugh at that.]

He didn't take Clint appearing in my room without warning very well. Honestly- I cannot blame him. Were it not for the fact he is all but identical to Rick I would have stabbed him myself, or attempted to.

She questioned his understanding of the Jedi Code, yes. She did write it after all, and had particularly strong feelings about attachments being vital to keeping one from the Dark Side, or just living a healthy life.

[Luke smiles at the thought]

Artoo is pretty spiteful. Next time? Let him shock the man before he does anything foolish. What happened there, anyway?

She would know better than anyone. Does know better than anyone.

[There was a prominent undercurrent of respect, almost reverence when she spoke of the woman, now. She knew better, understood that woman's place in Luke's universe and gave the respect she was due. She'd screwed it up once- never again.]

He appeared in my bed. I woke and...I thought Rick had returned to the village. He'd been pulled from a tumultuous point in his life and thought I meant him harm. He didn't hurt me, but he did restrain me until I assured him this was nowhere he'd be in danger.

I wouldn't go that far, Grandmaster Odan Urr, her teacher might know more. And Master Yoda is considered by many to be nearly her equal.

[Luke smiles, fondly remembering the old Jedi and his quirks]

Another strange, violent gentleman waking up in your bed. Adele, whatever are we going to do with you?
